Before leaving for Camp David today, President Bush Signed The Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation And Management Reauthorization Act Of 2006. By signing this bill, the President reaffirmed our commitment to protect America's fisheries and keep our commercial and recreational fishing communities strong. This Act will end over-fishing in America, help us replenish our Nation's fish stocks, and advance international cooperation and ocean stewardship. Fact Sheet: Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Reauthorization Act.

Quote of the Day
I want to address kind of a rumor, an urban legend that's going around -- and it comes from language in the President's Wednesday night address to the nation, that in talking about Iran and Syria, that he was trying to prepare the way for war with either country and that there are war preparations underway: There are not. What the President was talking about is defending American forces within Iraq and also doing what we can to disrupt networks that might be trying to convey weapons or fighters into battle theaters within Iraq to kill Americans and Iraqis.
As regards Iran, the United States is using diplomatic measures right now to address concerns -- including Iran's nuclear program. We've been working with the United Nations Security Council, recently got a chapter seven resolution. So this is something that is very important to push back, because I know there's been a lot of speculation about it. Let me just try to put that to rest once and for all.
(So there!)

Our President deep in thought. God bless you, Mr. President.
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island
Lol none that I noticed anyway. I could've missed some, though. ;)
I second that sentiment. Onyx is doing an AMAZING job! :)
Thank you. I really appreciate your kinds words. HAPPY news day in Missouri --- but I'm not nearly as busy as I thought or hoped.

Hi Jewels and snugs
CNN was so hyper about being able to show their faces as they were taken from patrol cars and brought inside the police facility.
hi! I feel so for President Bush, I just can't imagine what the stress and tention and probably down right in the gut fear he is going through, not to mention the plain hate from so many in this country. This man has given the directions that has kept this country safe and what does it get him? GRIEF!!
I do, too. He looks like he has the weight of the world on him. He did not deserve a democrat congress. I pray for POTUS's strength every day and I know you do too.
My thought today when I heard that Boxer had made such a snide jab at Condi pointing out that she didn't have a family, was that Condi has something Barbara Boxer will never have, and that is class.
OMG that funny well big story here we dont' care David Beckama is coming to LA

I've been following that on another thread ... it is indeed wonderful news. Bittersweet in a way, though, knowing what those boys have probably been through, especially the one missing since 2002. I pray he and his family's reunion and adjustment to each other goes smoothly. Four years is a long time in the life of a child.
