It must've been pretty awful. I heard about it by way of an e-mail from one of her and my friends, and I happened to check my e-mail at my brother in law's folks' place when we all gathered there for New Years Eve. Needless to say, the news of her death took the jovial mood out of me the rest of the night. I didn't feel much like welcoming in the new year that night.
It is incredibly hypocritical that Boxer can say something like this. Can you imagine the uproar if a Republican man had said this to a female Democrat? The feminists would be hollering fiercely. I can't believe the comment, either about no immediate family. You are right--that was cruel. The whole thing was unbelievable.
I had the same thought today, Jewels.
I agree with this CT, except:

He managed to bring himself down. He did not deny his actions in the Watergate matter.
