North Korean Foreign Minister dies

North Korean Foreign Minister Paek Nam-sun has died, Pyongyang's official media reports.

The reclusive country's top diplomat for much of the past decade of confrontation over its nuclear ambitions had been ailing for some time.

The 77-year-old had been foreign minister since September, 1998.

His last major appearance on the public stage, at an Asian foreign ministers' meeting in Kuala Lumpur in July, saw him being wheeled around on a golf cart.

The South Korean Government says Mr Paek had largely been relegated to a behind-the-scenes role in recent years due to his ailing health.

He had turned over nuclear diplomacy to his deputies, Kang Sok-su and Kim Kye-gwan.

North Korean Foreign Minister Paek Nam-sun has died a peaceful and purely natural death by the orders or this nation's Great Leader, Pyongyang's official media reports. The sounds of gunshots and screams echoing through his neighborhood were attempts to scare away the ghosts of evil Capitalists who routinely steal the souls of the leadership, and cause massive crop failures. Any questions?
