"We adhere to Ronald Reagan's philosophy that the best way for America to achieve peace in this dangerous world is to remain strong." --Duncan Hunter, Honorary Chairman
Peace Through Strength stands for:
1. An American Military equipped and sized to defeat any adversary
2. U.S. missile defenses that can intercept and destroy incoming ballistic missiles
3. Enforceable U.S. borders, including a 700-mile double fence across the smugglers routes in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas
4. Reversing the one-way street trade policies that are moving the U.S. industrial bases and jobs to China and giving them U.S. dollars to buy military equipment from Russia
5. Energy Independence for the U.S. that would stop a reliance of overseas petroleum products Cut off the flow of military technology to our potential adversaries

Since I first heard about his potential run at the presidency, I've been doing some research on Duncan Hunter and to this point, I'm very impressed with him. I've posted the bullet points from his
Peace Through Strength PAC above. I think this is an excellent platform to run for president on in 2006, and given the extremely dangerous climate in the world today, I think a no nonsense, former military guy like Hunter could sweep to victory.
What say you?

General Chuck Yeager Endorses Duncan Hunter for President From the desk of Gen. Chuck Yeager:
November 20, 2006
To my Fellow Americans,
Congressman Duncan Hunter is the best candidate for President of the United States of America that I know - he has integrity, tenacity, courage, and diplomacy. He is intelligent and thoughtful, does his research, and acts on it.
I have known Congressman Duncan Hunter for over 35 years. Duncan served his country in the Army and is a Vietnam vet. In Vietnam, he served in one of the most dangerous outfits - the 173rd Airborne Brigade and the 75th Army Rangers....

Been watching this guy for a few months now. So far, I really like what I see. Straight shooter, get's it, good speaker and debater, and some seriously Reganesque qualities -- a GOOD combination!

This is one of the best aspects of Hunter---he's the real deal. No one will ever dare accuse him of being a 'chicken hawk.'

He is the best and worst.
Best in that he is the most conservative candidate yet to announce, even has a son serving in Iraq I think.
Worst in that nobody in the country has heard of him and congress people have an extremly poor track record of winning the white house. I think were talking last century on that one.
I just wish he was a Governor instead.
And hopefully he steered clear of any Duke Cunningham scandal problems.

Thanks for the ping.
And if I don't "see" you before then, Merry Christmas!

Add me please. So far, this guy is the least worst of the GOP's 2008 candidates.

I really like this guy too! I don't understand why no one in the media mentions him when they mention GOP presidential hopefuls.

Maybe after the '08 primaries, CA's Duncan Hunter and Virginia's Jim Gilmore could somehow team up...now that would be unbeatable!
Agreed. Actually, they need to team up BEFORE the primaries. One of the worst things that can happen is for conservatives to split into two camps during the Primaries. We need to unite behind ONE guy early on.
So far, Hunter seems like one of the few that really GETS IT.
