Since I first heard about his potential run at the presidency, I've been doing some research on Duncan Hunter and to this point, I'm very impressed with him. I've posted the bullet points from his
Peace Through Strength PAC above. I think this is an excellent platform to run for president on in 2006, and given the extremely dangerous climate in the world today, I think a no nonsense, former military guy like Hunter could sweep to victory.
What say you?

Been watching this guy for a few months now. So far, I really like what I see. Straight shooter, get's it, good speaker and debater, and some seriously Reganesque qualities -- a GOOD combination!

He is the best and worst.
Best in that he is the most conservative candidate yet to announce, even has a son serving in Iraq I think.
Worst in that nobody in the country has heard of him and congress people have an extremly poor track record of winning the white house. I think were talking last century on that one.
I just wish he was a Governor instead.
And hopefully he steered clear of any Duke Cunningham scandal problems.

I really like this guy too! I don't understand why no one in the media mentions him when they mention GOP presidential hopefuls.

Thanks for the *ping*.
I like Hunter's Reaganesque thinking.
Britain had to wait twenty years to find another Churchill, perhaps the US has found another "Gipper".

OK, I'm in on the donation and I'm in on the volunteer list. Now I'm gonna try and get bumper stickers to get him some name recognition in Massachusetts, RI, CT and NH where I often travel. :-}

You're doing great with the Duncan Hunter posts. ;) The only thing with donating to his PAC is that not all the funds go to Hunter's run for the nomination. I'm waiting for his official site but maybe I'll make a small donation to this too. He's a great man and presidential in every way. When people see and hear him they will be impressed.

Thanks especially for the link to Duncan Hunter's PAC for contributions and volunteering. 'Early money counts most' is one of the more reliable maxims in politics. Maybe much the same is true of 'early volunteer activism and organizing'.
It would be great if he can start to recieve 'buzz' through letters to The American Spectator, The American Conservative, National Review, Human Events, etc.

He would be good on the issues and presumably his personal record as well, but he is unknown to Republican voters even in CA and will be ignored in a presidential contest. Voters in both parties won't only brand-name nominees.

Thus far, Hunter is the only man to announce who can seriously claim the title of 'conservative.'
He has me vote, should he be nominated.
