I don't think so...and many have blamed Pres. Bush for NOT making the American citizens "suffer"...

I had a late night, TXsleuth. Help me out with this one. What is it that you "don't think so" about?

They point to gas rationing in WW11, the draft in Vietnam, etc...thinking if Americans "sacrificed" more, they would UNDERSTAND... Well...first of all, the MSM and the dems, almost from 9/12/01 on, have denigrated Pres. Bush so much, why do they then think that Americans WOULD follow his suggestions of sacrifice??

I suspect that this may be the point that I was trying to make. I don't think that anyone who relies on the MSM is capable of understanding much of anything. Certainly they can't understand the danger of losing in the Middle East.

Calls to make sacrifices such as military service, gas rationing etc. would have no effect on those slack jawed fans of network TV programming. No, I'm talking about "sacrifices" akin to evacuating the radioactive rubble one's former hometown.

I think such an event, God forbid, might even concentrate the limited thought processes of the Katie Couric crowd.

The greatest thing about the msm, is the day you leave it! You never look back only forward. When I think of all the years I was brainwashed it makes me sick.

I did it with a Rebel deep-diver... two treble-hooks. One fish was 2+ lbs., the other about 1 and a half. Didn't know what the hell I had on at first.

One of my favorite things that you do snugs, is share your photos of yourself, your delicious creations...and the places you frequent.

For those of us that probably will never get to England, I love every one of your pictures, thank you!

Rule #8: "Keep the pressure on, never let up."

I WISH our GOP would use that rule more often.

Winning IS a must. The Iraq Surrender Group's report is just awful. But Jim Baker has a long and sordid history of giving lousy foreign policy advice to American Presidents.

Jim Baker the Foreign Policy "genius"

#254, I think you are right, they are sweating big time about the sick old geezers, and remember that Reid had a stroke last year. What I would love to point out as I did to Bill Nelson's aide in Washington that Nelson is not right in his head, and has not been for quite a while. I told the aide that by not getting help for Nelson's obvious dementia, they are putting his life on the line and may get us killed by saying something he thinks is right but starts a really bad international Incident. He is so clueless as typical of people with dementia that he has delusions that he is a big Star in the Party, and he may be bucking for a VP slot. His Family has to know, and it may be adding problems because it tears Family members apart. His aides must know unless they are new and do not know he sounds far away sometimes, like he did in the Debate with K Harris. They know if they put him out to pasture that Charlie Crist will put a Pubbie in there to replace him in a heartbeat. Anyone that has followed Nelson for more than 4-5 years has seen him slipping badly, most noticeable is his speech, slipping back to his NW Florida Cracker accent, and grasping for words that should flow naturally without all the hesitation. He is not that old, but Dementia knows no bounds. I knew there was a problem when he was playing kissy face with such an anti-American as Michael Moore, and going illegally, and unauthorized in a NASA Spacecraft( with Jon cary) to campaign. Normally he would know not to do any of those stupid things. Almost every report I have seen this week about his visit to Syria was (even the DBM) "What is he smoking?" "What is wrong with him"? "What was he thinking?"

The "I don't think so" part was an answer to the question at the end of your wonderful post...wondering if Americans would come to the realization of what you were talking about...before another attack.

I was saying "I don't think so"...and went on to expound on why I don't think so.

I was trying to agree with you in my uniquely bumbling writing style...I am sorry if it wasn't made more clear...LOL

Very strong stuff.

I am enlightened. Good post and I'm sure your thoughts and concerns are shared by many close to Nelson. I really thought he was "always" a bit spacy.

Cronkite bumped me out of the MSM orbit on Feb. 27, 1968. Thank goodness for the alternatives available today!

OMG, MTP Brooks and Friedman actually despise, I mean truly despise Rumsfeld.

What a couple of loons.

Brooks is nominally a conservative, but as I pointed out yesterday, I view him, because he works for the New York Times, the same way I viewed Buchannan and Novak for taking a paycheck from Turner as CNN's "chosen conservatives."  They don't get paid to represent conservative issues or points of view, at least not in a convincing way.  They mostly get paid to say "I'm a lifelong conservative, but..."

The thing that really set me off in the segment was when they were talking about the tribute Cheney gave to Rumsfeld on his retirement, particularly calling him the greatest Secretary of Defense in our history.  Friedman went balistic, going on and on about the fiasco in Iraq and then asking "does he think we're stupid?"

My immediate reaction was to ask that all of us send Thomas Friedman emails detailing exactly how stupid we think he is and why.  I think I'll also see if Snugs can come up with a graphic so that we can do the Bill Engvall "here's your sign" bit.

My initial run at it is that the problems we have in Iraq are not military problems, they are political and police problems.  The military situation is well in hand.  Rumsfeld oversaw the two most blindingly successful military campaigns in our nation's history.  We overthrew the Sadam government in three weeks!  All of the "experts," Friedman included, predicted tens of thousands of American dead in that invasion inside of days.  We're four years into the aftermath and we still have fewer casualities than we suffered in one week in Korea in 1950!  And less than we suffered in one day in New York and Washington in 2001.

Yes, I think he's stupid, so here's his sign:

Big, Rapala Countdowns would probably work as well while trolling. I used one to land that Canadian laker in my profile. A few of my buddies tried to emulate it by attaching a split-shot to their floating versions... but they still ended up catching jacks(pike). ;)

LOL!!!

I always had problems with id'ing the 68 GM products. It's when they switched from stacked top-bottom headlights to vertical side-by-side headlights. The Cutlasses, 88's, and LeMans, etc, all looked the same that year! I had a 67 GTO. Nothing looked like it except for the LeMans and Tempest, but they were all Pontiacs.

I felt that was the case; however, disagreeing with me is not necessarily a bad move- especially when I'm trying to shake out the cobwebs!
