Brian Williams Corrects Laura Bush on Media Coverage of Iraq
Media Research Center ^ | December 15, 2006 | Brent Baker

Posted on 12/16/2006 3:12:13 AM PST by Zakeet

On Thursday's NBC Nightly News, anchor Brian Williams highlighted how, earlier in the day, First Lady Laura Bush "placed the blame squarely on the news media" for why so few support the President on Iraq. But instead of addressing her contention about how "there are a lot of good things that are happening that aren't covered and I think the drumbeat in the country from the media...is discouraging" as she hoped for "more balanced coverage" in the future, Williams applied a non sequitur to dismiss her assessment of the news media. He noted how "the recent report from the Iraq Study Group, however, specifically found that there has been significant under-reporting of the violence in Iraq." But that's about the accuracy of U.S. military data collection and categorization, not the accuracy of news media coverage of the situation in Iraq.

Sadly, most Americans only want to recharge their I-pod mp3 players and they can't be bothered to actually know what is going on in the worls as it concerns the USA....

The vast majority of Americans are just plain old vanilla flavored stupid.

This is courtesy of the Public School system run bu mostly Demon-rats in the largest cities....

here in NYC, they increase spending almost every year and every year the kids get more stupid....

Hell's Bell's, they are proud of their stupidity, it boggles the mind..

Turn the clock back eight years. Ask yourself how much access NBC would have had in the Klintoon White House had Brokaw dared mumble a criticism of Her Heinous over Haiti or Rwanda or Kosovo.

I performed an experiment on two relatives. After secretly injecting them with ... Oops... Wrong experiment. :-)

Actually, in conversations with both, either on Iraq or on the current administration, both were 100% anti-Bush. They simply had nothing good to say either about the war, or the President. When I mentioned that this was probably because the only things that they heard were negative, they promptly dismissed it. So I asked either one to name a SINGLE NEWS ITEM that they could recall where either the military or President Bush were praised by the media, and neither could come up with a single instance. Still, I don't think that it really made an impression on them.

Well, they're going to fix that here in Kansas City. For only $150,000 this year, the KCMO Public School District is going to open an "African Centric High School." I'm sure that will help bring up the grades, and prepare the students for both college and jobs!

The KCMOPSC lost their state accreditation a number of years ago, and have been operating on "provisional accreditation" (because "activists" threatened to riot if the state took over the schools) for a number of years... This year? Well, things have gotten even worse. According to the latest numbers, the KCMOPSD is "graded" on 14 mandatory, and 6 voluntary "bonus" criteria. Needless to say, they didn't even bother with the voluntary... And on the mandatory criteria? Well, they managed to meet 4 of the 14 minimum "passing grades." There's talk that the school disctrict will again be fully un-accredited by the state at the end of this year.

I do not have the stomach to watch Brian Williams because, IMO, he is just another anti-American leftist revolutionary who takes lessons on social behavior from Senator-elect Webb. The propaganda spewed forth by Brian and others of his ilk seems more intense and bold because of the recent Democrat wins. Laura Bush is exactly right in her observations, but behavior by creeps like Williams supported by socialist billionaires is getting less and less civil. Why should he be civil? The Democrats will soon be in control.

I guess the media really is the only one who took that report serious.

what part of the staements by First Lady Laura are wrong????

brian williams is just another anti-american a-hole leftist lib/dem new reader....like his opions acutally mean something...since after all...he has such gravitas and inside knowledge other than what comes off of the dnc talking point faxes....

if he would have challenged the piaps during the clinton years....nbc and williams would have been persona no grata in the white house...

Interesting. We're in rural Missouri, and I didn't know that about KC.

President Bush was elected and he vowed to set a new tone in Washington D.C. Well certainly that did not work and he's probably the most hated President in the American history, perhaps even more than Abraham Lincoln.

As much as we've seen of him during the past six years, I'm surprised your relatives didn't think Clinton was still in the White House!

Brian Williams is a scumbag traitor to Americans,
who would probably cheer if he was beheaded by the enemy.

NBC, etc, think they make themselves "big" by attacking America, Americans,
Jews and Christians. He is a gutless POS.

Perhaps Brian should hang around more NASCAR folks he claims he loves so much for a reality check and stop with the cocktail curcuit on the upper east side.

Here in NYC it is called Afro-centric education, on the left coast it was called Ebonics....

In reality it is just bad english and can only harm anyone who signs on for this trip.

Imagine, you walk into a bank and say.........

"I be lookin for sum work".........

I would imagine the answer to be...........

Please look somewhere else.

We will never be able to win another war unless something drastic happens to change the way our major media work.

"...he's probably the most hated President in the American history, perhaps even more than Abraham Lincoln."

Not bad company to be in. I see your point played out in the media daily. They're still in denial that 63,000,000 US voters re-elected the President in '04. Cheap shots such as those from Brian Williams' band of “sore winners” aptly demonstrate why the perfect symbol for the Democratic Party is the jackass. See you in two years, Brian.
