I think you need to look at past Presidential administrations, especially in recent times. They almost always seem to select people from past administrations of when their party was last in.

Check out Haig from Reagan's tenure - SECSTATE - who had connections to the Nixon White House. Schultz had conncetions to Ike and the Nixon White House. James Baker was connected with the Ford White House.

The young people will be those working under the older and experienced people. Hey, one of these days Mark Levin, who worked int he Reagan White House, may be appointed by some future Republican President when he is in his 60's. You never know. Anyway, both parties do it - draw from past administrations.

"I do not believe I have told any lies about him - as some has claimed and have yet to answer me as to what my lies were - but I was venting my frustration and went too far."

Somehow, I think I know who called you a liar, even though I am unfamiliar with the specifics. I've been in the same boat. It's very frustrating and offensive, to be called a liar, over and over again, over a difference of opinion, isn't it? And especially so, from one who professes such strong religious belief. It strikes me as bearing false witness. President Bush was far superior to the alternative, in 2000 and in 2004, and so I could never say I regret my votes, but he is not perfect. No mere human is perfect. You have no reason to apologize for being outspoken; this is a political forum. You were likely goaded into writing things that seem impolitic, in hindsight.

I do not know what you said but it was a lovely apology.

I think many of us are frustrated with the direction this country/world is taking. It is nice to have a forum such as this we can be informed on the issues and then whine about them.

Due to my frustration of this last election, there is a story I am half of a mind to email to a Bush hater. He is retired Army - Viet Nam vet - and is one of those who thinks the President is stupid. I want to email him the story of the woman spitting in that soldiers face, and tell him this is what you voted for. These are the people your vote supports.

More likely, she could not be responsible for all ills that befall her.

No, really. If there is nothing to do, nothing to see or nothing in the refrigerator, we now know who is possibly to blame.

*snort* The sad thing is, she'd apologize for it. My mom has the same sort of complex. Every other sentence starts with "I'm sorry" even though she often had nothing to do with the situation.

I agree. I think he could have come up with something better than looking Americans in the eye and lying through his teeth.

I still think it could have been handled better.
