Just wait. They will move to ban all livestock production because of "greenhouse gasses" and "global Warming".
I used to wonder how Stalin managed to starve the people in the Ukraine, one of the richest growing areas in the world.
Part of me wonders if they will do that here.

For those who war against Jesus, the absence of God is telling. Prosperity falls even unto secular consumerist cultures who remain indifferent to Christ.
I don't want to discredit human effort where credit is due, so let me continue the slide show and links:
Irrigation in Saudi Arabia
Irrigation in Iraq
Food production in China could be increased with more irrigation
Irrigation in Inner Mongolia
Irrigation in Pakistan
Irrigation in Africa
Irrigation in the Middle East - Countries estimated to have the largest irrigation systems (1997)

Oh! And don't forget this is leading to a global tax through the UN to fund the grants you referred to!!!

One would think the best decision, in the face of incomplete information, would be to err on the side of the status quo.Yes, one would. Precipitate action without adequate information becomes a random variable and is just about guaranteed to introduce additional error into the picture, rendering valid conclusions even more elusive. Eventually we will end up correcting for the error caused by our previous corrections. That adds up to crap science and no way to run a railroad.

...only if we're stupid enough to give the UN that money.

"'Global warming' is a con-job orchestrated by the global socialists, and the global socialists are supported by the UN. And now the UN appears to be undercutting the global socialists. I wonder what the game is?" Maybe they're just doing a little backtracking CYA in case the new UN head who will relace Kofi Annan in January won't be on the take like he is and will be intellectually honest enough to blow their cover sky high and clean house.
I can hope, can't I? :)
