I don't care whether members of Congress get a pay raise or not. But as a federal employee, I'm very interested in ensuring rank-and-file federal employees get their annual pay raise. Fortunately, the measure mentioned in this article affects only members of Congress and Supreme Court justices -- federal employees' raises are contained in a separate provision which is part of the spending bill for all federal agencies. So I'm certain we'll get our raises come January!

Frankly, the rank and file should get a pay raise only after they fire about 1/3 of the incompetents there who do virtually nothing.

Fortunately ( for you ) I'm not in Congress to introduce a bill that would put your wages, raises, and benefits to a vote of the people ( taxpayers you work for ).
Government employees now bargain with OTHER Government employees to determine what they will be paid by a third party ( taxpayers ), that is insane!
Its like union workers asking the president of the union how much they should be paid with someone else's money!

Why do you think you deserve a raise? Or is that question never asked?
