That is debatable, shotgun would have been better.

We all have our preferences. After all, some folks prefer a Walther PPK, so go figure!

You don't. Just nail 'em to the wall and let 'em dry. :)

"He went to his bedroom doorway, saw a man trying to enter through a kitchen door and fired a round from a .45-caliber handgun.

The owner told investigators he was certain he hadn't hit the man, which was confirmed when they found the handgun round lodged in a kitchen cabinet."

For all the "bigger is better" crowd, a miss with a 12 ga. or .45 ACP is less effective than a hit with a 9mm.

Sounds like good shooting with the wrong caliber.

Depends on wher the perp was hit.

"Shooting a .45 in a confined space like described must have sounded like a Abrams A1A firing."

What?

Look at it this way:the homeowner won't be sued by the burglar or his relatives nor prosecuted by the police. The burglars know the ol' fellow is armed and not afraid to shoot, and might get better with practice!
He won't need counseling over taking a human life, etc.

BIGGEST PROBLEM WILL BE SOME EXPERT WANTING TO TAKEWAY THE GUN BECAUSE HE IS TOO OLD TO -----(FILL IN THE BLANK)

It is amazing the number of gun owners that never go to the range or practice dry fire situations in the home in case of break ins.PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!

I agree. I go to the pistol range at least once every two weeks. Mostly 9mm. But some .357 for recoil sensitivity training.

That is debatable, shotgun would have been better.

Why? A miss is a miss.

I wish I had picked out the Sig instead of my Beretta.

They're both good. I prefer Sigs myself.

SigForum.com is an interesting site for guys who like Sigs, Glocks, S&Ws and H&Ks.

Yeah, I know but I love the all American round. I just pick up a Savage 111F in 30-06. Can't wait to get to the range with it. Also my new Puma lever 44 mag.
