The Middle East Solution: Crush Iran And Syria Now
November 27 2006 | jveritas

Posted on 11/27/2006 1:24:21 PM PST by jveritas

The very dangerous situation in the Middle East cannot be acceptable anymore and it demands that the United States takes immediate and decisive actions against Iran and Syria. The terrorist Islamic regime in Tehran and the Baath terrorist dictatorship in Damascus are causing us, the people of the Middle East and the world more problems than ever before and it is now the time to end it. Some of the politicians who are suggesting negotiations with these two evil regimes are committing us to a grave and fatal mistake. There must be no negotiations what so ever with Iran and Syria, not on any issue, and not before they are crushed and humiliated. Right now negotiations with them will be seen by these regimes as a great weakness of the US and they will continue all the death and destruction that they are doing in Iraq, Lebanon and elsewhere. The President should dismiss these politicians because their recommendations for negotiations with the terrorist regime of Iran and Syria are of grave danger to our national security. These politicians who are the “cool heads” or the “realists” or whatever silly titles the liberal media give them, are nothing but a bunch of cowards who are asking for surrender under the guise of negotiations.

Iran must be severely damaged by two to three weeks of a very intensive Air Campaign that destroys their nuclear facilities and even better destroys their military infrastructures, Command and Control centers. The US Air Power is barely used in the Iraqi or Afghani theaters of war so the vast majority of US Air Power is free to rain hell on Iran, in addition to thousands of cruise missiles that can cause untold destruction. The arrogance of this regime must be broken and they must understand that they are not going to rule the Middle East. Once Iran is broken, the Syrian regime will understand the message very well and will give up on its own. No land invasion is required, a very severe Air Campaign will teach the Iranian rulers a lesson that they will never forget and the Syrians will learn not to mess around anymore.

The time to act against Iran is now, we cannot wait anymore and we cannot wait for the world to approve our actions. The world will not act. We must act on our own now because it will be totally fatal if we do not.

Let is too be a $ 100 or $ 200 dollar barrel of oil and then in a year we will go back to the normal price. Consider it a must operation to remove a cancer, it will be painful for while but we will live better after that.

We can only hope that talk of 'negotiations' is a ruse.

We have to be careful. We probably can't fight a land war against Iran and an insurgency in Iraq simultaneously with the troops we have. Congress has made a grave mistake in not raising authorized troop levels and providing funding for recruitment. In fact, IIRC, current authorized troop levels are less than they were during Bush 41's term after military budget cuts. The only other alternative is conscription, and the public probably won't stand for that.

Iran could never launch a successful conventional attack into Iraq and hope to win. However, suppose they start doing something that requires a ground assault in order to prevent? Then we're in sorry shape.

Time for the rearming of America with neutron bombs.

Then use them on these two countries.

Frankly, I don't care what the world thinks.

Ahmadinejad is nervous.

(paraphrased) He has allegedly written letters to the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the UAE. Sources say he warned the Persian Gulf leaders against cooperating with the US in case of military strikes against Tehran's atomic installations.

I said that the solution is an Air War against Iran, I did not mention any land war.

I soooo agree with what you've written, but, won't happen till we see a cloud rising up from US soil.

Sorry jveritas but it's not going to happen. The most likely scenario is some sort of negotiated settlement involving Iranian and Syrian pledges to help resolve the Iraqi "issue" and the politicians will declare victory and peace in our time. It will be up to future politicians to deal with the mess we're going to create in the near future.

From that article

Iran fears the United States could in the coming months carry out air raids or military attacks against its nuclear and military installations to block its nuclear programme, which US president George W. Bush has not ruled out.

We shouldn't let problems in Iraq keep us from more pressing matters. We should crush Iran and let the Iraqis fight among themselves.

You don't win with air power alone.

If this wasn't done when support for it was strongest, it's not going to happen when desire for more military adventurism is at a nadir.

The situation in Iraq, or at least the perception of it, has made the large-scale action impossible. Without a triggering event, the American public is not interested in more action in the armpit of the world.

I think the Russian model of pinpoint assasinations is better. Muslims are easily controlled by silencing clerics in opposition to the royalty or dictator.

In Iraq, we need to silence any cleric advocating sharia, terror, anti-Americanism or sectarian violence. Right now, with so many death squads, we could get away with it and blame it on them.

I'm sorry to say that the whole world would turn against America if we did what you advocate, even though I like it.

No matter what we do they will never like us. The sooner we learn to live with that fact the better off we'll be.

It will free us up to do whats necessary to survive.
