The boy was part of a group of teens, numbering about four, who tried to rob the pizza store employee at the Huntingwood Pointe apartments in the 2900 block of Campbellton Road shortly after 10 p.m.

Authorities said the driver, who works for a neighborhood pizza parlor, pulled out a gun and fired, hitting and killing the boy.

Police did not say whether they planned on charging the driver, adding they were still investigating.

Good for him.

Just think how much time and money the deliveryman saved future society and how much crime he prevented for the future.

Too bad the 14 year old chose such a risky line of work.

His moma was out in the middle of the street in front of reporters demanding answers from the Atlanta Police as to why her boy was dead.....apparently, she doesn't care that her son is/was a criminal....

Everyone hollering about the dead kid being "just a kid" -- sorry, when you pick up a gun or other weapon, or try to rob, rape or kill, you are no longer "just a kid."

They should hire him to give shooting lessons to the police.

We had a 9 year old here in my town who tried to hold somebody up with a very realistic looking "toy" gun this weekend. He was just lucky the person he tried it on wasn't armed; the police said the gun was indistinguishable from a real one, even seen up close, and his intended victim would certainly have been justified in shooting him. Of course, the little charmer and his 14 year old lookout, who had 3 gravity knives in his waistband, were returned to their "guardians" and didn't even go to jail. He'll probably be dead one of these days soon.

A tough lesson that crime is not a piece of cake - or rather in this case - a piece of pizza.

Hope the police do the 'right thing'; he should not be charged; Another lesson needs to be learned here; the person you are thinking of robbing or committing a crime against; just may be able to protect themselves.

Why her son was dead? Pretty obvious to me. He picked the wrong guy to rob. They should cremate his butt, because that kind of crap isnt going to make the flowers grow.

I knew a pizza dekivery guy about 20 years ago who was shot in the neck with a 22 rifle, AFTER he cooperated with his robbers and gave up his money and pizza. He lived but he quit his job.

I like this outcome much better. Nice shooting.

If you get shot by a 14 year old are you less dead than shot by a grown man. This kid took his chances --and lost.

He was tried as an adult.

We owe this man a big thank you because he saved society from years of crimminal problems because this kid had years of getting away with it because he is "just a misunderstood kid and a victim of the society he lives in" BS.

... apparently she failed to teach her son how to pay for the pizza...

A good example of "gun control" -- a nice, steady aim.
