Parents Defend Son Accused In Haditha Slayings

WASHINGTON COUNTY-- Parents of a marine accused in the November 2005 slayings of Iraqi civilians in Haditha are coming to their son’s defense.

Lance Corporal Justin Sharratt, 22, who lived in western Pennsylvania for a time, is one of several Marines under investigation. Now, his parents, who grew up in Washington County, say their son told them he followed the rules of engagement.

They say their son was raised a Catholic and knows the difference between right and wrong. The Sharratt’s also say they believe the Marines have abandoned those implicated in the killings.

They also blame U.S. Rep. John Murtha for prejudging the Marines allegedly involved in the incident on national television.

So far, Sharratt is not been charged.

The U.S. Marine Corp had no comment on this story.

Well, the article was written by Leftists, so you have to consider the source. Still, the picture in the article is of Haditha as a mini-Taliban state where beheadings are public entertainment. That's a different picture than you see in the media after the incident where Haditha is made out to be a sister city to Pleasantville, USA.

And let us continue to keep them all in our prayers. So many fine men and women serve, brought up in God fearing families and ready to put their hides on the line, and often if not at that level, still going on hardy sea duties, remote bases etc..
We are so blessed in this land with so many fine young people and not so young that serve in this capacity.

A terrorist group in Iraq that has been busy shedding blood has also been busy issuing statements of responsibility. According to the link below: "Two of these operations, including the detonation of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) on an American CIA vehicle and truck carrier, were videotaped. Others, composed of sniper attacks and bombings of vehicles and barracks, were stated to be revenge attacks for American crimes in Haditha."

This is a tragic connection between Murtha publicizing "crimes" and attacks on our brave men and women.

Maybe you need to write a "what if" piece with as much documention as you can muster. You write it, I'll post it and take whatever comes. I've already gotten a couple hate e-mails from Leftists and Murthistas. If you're not getting hate mail, you aren't pushing hard enough, I always say.
