Alpha emitters are only highly dangerous if ingested (inhaled, swallowed, enter through a wound). Even energetic alphas have a short range in air and are stopped by skin or clothing. Close exposure to the lens of the eye can be a problem. Americium 241, found in smoke detectors is an alpha emitter (as well as some low energy gammas).

The one I heard was ricin delivered in a micro-pellet via the tip of an air pellet shooting umbrella.

Scroll down to 210 specifically, though -- says it's not dangerous to humans.
You're right. It was ricin, and I haven't had enough coffee yet to be functioning on all cylinders.
What do you make of that info?
Endoplang gland?
