A Republican fund-raiser who embezzled from a state investment in rare coins was sentenced Monday to 18 years in prison for his role in a scandal that helped bring down Ohio’s ruling Republican Party.
The fund-raiser, Tom Noe, 52, was also fined $139,000.
Mr. Noe spent money as if he had “a bottomless cup of wealth and luxury” at his disposal, “when in fact it was at the state’s expense,” Judge Thomas Osowik of Common Pleas Court said Monday.
The sentence is on top of the more than two years Mr. Noe was ordered to serve after pleading guilty earlier this year to illegally funneling $45,000 to President Bush’s re-election campaign.
Democrats asserted that Mr. Noe had gotten the job because of his Republican ties. He was a top fund-raiser who gave more than $105,000 to Republicans, including President Bush and Gov. Bob Taft in 2004.
Mr. Noe was convicted of theft, corrupt activity and other offenses last week, and faced a minimum of 10 years in prison on the corrupt-activity charge alone.

Well then he should have been prosecuted as a democrat rather than a felon, much lighter sentence, if one at all.
I'd like to tell him to keep a cot warm for William Jefferson, DEMOCRAT LOUISIANA. Unfortunately, Jefferson is a DemocRAT and therefore, is above the law.

I think it is "land o'Goshen", as in "Land of Goshen". My grandmother used that expression frequently.
That's because computer-think is literal. We humans can link conceptually. "Land O Goshen" indeed!
