Jonathan Narvaez-Pena admitted to drinking 10-15 shots of tequila before getting into his Buick Park Avenue and speeding through the streets of Nashville on the night of October 21, 2006. Narvaez-Pena, an uninsured illegal alien with a prior arrest for driving without a license, ran numerous red lights before crashing into the Bumvu family's car. Antoine Bumvu, 43, and his two-year-old son, Eddy, were killed in the accident. Bumvu's wife, Josephine, and his six-month-old son, Tony, were seriously injured and taken to the hospital. Four other vehicles were involved in the crash and a total of 11 victims were taken to area hospitals, including Narvaez-Pena's two-year-old daughter, Hillary, who received massive facial trauma.
No amount of money can compensate the Bumvu family for the permanent loss of their loved ones. Nevertheless, taxpayers along with auto and medical insurance policy holders will end up being stuck with a hefty price tag for Narvaez-Pena's 11 victims. It is an all-too-common occurrence. Seen any Mexican 18-wheelers running down the highways lately? The ones that don't have the same regulations ensuring their safety that American truckers have?
That's cheap, and deadly labor too.
And of course, the 'Rats and RINOs response is taxpayer-funded universal health care and amnesty for illegal immigrants. Some even want taxpayer-funded college education (see the DREAM Act proposal) that would give preferred "financial aid" to illegals over American citizens and legal immigrants.
We are telling the world that we punish good, law abiding citizens and LEGAL immigrants while simultaneously rewarding and encouraging law breakers (regardless of nationality).
How do we pay for this? Higher taxes, higher interest rates, and a lower quality of life...and a worldwide perception of American weakness and decay that gives terrorists all over a green light to attack us.
This is the price of "cheap" labor. Cheap in the short run but devastatingly expensive in the long run.
Bush put a lot more effort into getting Mexican 18-wheelers on the highways of America than he ever did promoting Social Security reform. He started on that project as soon as he got into office, and it took years of his time and effort.

We are painfully aware of his priorities. The North American Union, an amnesty for illegals, keeping the borders OPEN, his ardent efforts to get CAFTA passed, etc, etc, etc. It all ties together as anyone can see.
You have to wonder how long this can go on for before there's a danger of some sort of violent backlash.

May 1st Protest - "Bite the hand that feeds you" Day What would that May 1st look like without illegal immigration? There would be no one to smuggle across our southern border the heroin, marijuana, cocaine, and methamphetamines that plague the United States, reducing the U.S. supply of meth that day by 80%. The lives of 12 U.S. citizens would be saved who otherwise die a violent death at the hands of murderous illegal aliens each day. Another 13 Americans would survive who are otherwise killed each day by uninsured drunk driving illegals. The murder rates in most of these countries are known and published by the United Nations (which means the figures must be correct). If one then simply assumes that each nationality of alien commits murder at the same rate in America as it would in its homeland, it is then possible to arrive at an estimate of the probable rate of murder by illegal aliens in America.
Put more plainly, I assumed that 3,871,912 Mexicans in America kill at the same rate as 3,871,912 Mexicans in Mexico, then did the same for 336,717 Salvadorans, 77,000 Brazilians, 226,886 Chinese and 39 other categories of illegal alien—as totaled in a Census Bureau estimate of the illegal alien population in 2000. The report’s total figure was that 8.7 million illegal aliens are in our country. It should be noted that this estimate would be considered low by many sources. But I tried to be as conservative as possible with all figures. My estimate is therefore low, I believe.
Using the above method, I estimated that illegal aliens kill 1,480 people in America every year. This assumes that the 8.7 million illegal aliens in America have a population age structure and a sex ratio similar to that of their homelands. Most murders are committed by young males. If the illegal population in America is skewed toward young males, as most believe, the murder total is actually much higher. Comparing the age structure of the population of illegal aliens that applied for amnesty during the Reagan administration (according a GAO report) to the current age structure of the population of Mexico (according to the US Census Bureau), I found that people aged 22 to 45 years old were overrepresented in the amnesty pool. Adjusting the murder rate using FBI homicide perpetrator age-cohort information for the United States (see why you need to pay attention in math class, kids?), the total is more likely to be 1,806 murders per year.
Given that 16,528 murders were committed in the entire United States in 2004, this estimate—if correct—would mean that illegal aliens (3% of the population in the Census Bureau Estimate used in this analysis) commit between 11% and 15% of all the murders in the United States each year. The murder rate for the illegal alien population in this model, 20 to 29 homicides per year per 100,000 persons, would thus be 400% to 500% the rate of the combined native-born and legal immigrant populations.

When I was assigned to the Unified Intelligence Division of DEA in New York from 1988 to 1992 I compiled statistics concerning the nature of the defendants who were arrested by DEA and the DEA Task Force in New York. It was estimated that some 60% of the defendants arrested in New York City were identified as being "foreign born" while 30% of the defendants arrested nationwide were identified as being "foreign born." And this is where things get very interesting. About 98 of every 100 illegals crossing our border are Mexican males between the ages of 15 and 34.

I've seen a lot of drunks. Some groups have an amazing ability to stay on their feet, and move around full of alcohol, long after a run of the mill drunk would be comatose, and harmless. You can look in their eyes and see no intelligence there, but damned if they don't keep on moving.

The best description of what I feel more and more on this issue is total, unbridled RAGE at those who have perpetrated what will surely be the destruction of America as I knew it as a child back in the 40s and 50s. My grandkids will live in a third world hellhole (think Mexico OUTSIDE places like Cancun and the "sanitized" resorts there.

My niece is an OB/GYN who took her pre-med at HAAAAVVAAAAADDD! Needless to say, she emerged from that experience a FLAMING, BLEEDING HEART LIBERAL.
Upon completing her medical training at yet another liberal university, she interned at a hospital near the border in San Diego.
It was there that a mystical transformation took place: She began to connect the heavy deductions from the GROSS EARNINGS for which she busted her butt for as many as 72 virtually sleepless hours in a row with the taxis and jalopies regularly sliding to the curb in front of the ER.
Many of them contained pregnant illegals who won the race to deliver their babies HERE. She caught many of those babies who, under the current -- and ERRONEOUS -- interpretation of the 14th Amendment were IMMEDIATELY NEW AMERICANS. The mother – who, obviously, could not care for the child if she were back in her native land -- could not be deported now even if the INS and the political bosses WANTED her deported . And as the mother of a new US citizen, the woman could remain here for about as long as she cared to – and that was usually for life.
Most of those patients were welfare recipients and the deliveries were charity cases: The bill for the hospital’s – and HER services – were routinely spread over the bills of those who DO pay. And what the other users of those facilities don't cover went back to the taxpayers.
And since my niece was now a taxpayer, they were costing HER.
And while she may not exactly be a libertarian, she’s is today a LOOONNNNG way from Haaaavaaaaaad.
And just so the bleeders who might see this don’t think me some sort of ethnocentric bigot, I submit this problem is MORE than just about illegals.
Before my oldest daughter was born at University Hospital in Cleveland in 1967, I sat in the main lobby as welfare mother-to-be after welfare mother-to-be shuffled through the door to the maternity ER for THEIR free deliveries.
Before WE could take OUR daughter home, I had to cough up over 3 grand. And that was a great deal of dough in 1967, especially for a guy just out of the USAF.
As I wrote the check, I remembered the magazine article I’d recently read by a hospital administrator from Massachusetts who admitted that all US hospitals practiced a form of medical Marxism, spreading the costs of care for indigents over the bills of those who DO pay for care. Given the move to socialism here, it probably will never be otherwise: Not counting Byzantine complexity and confusion, government produces – and has -- NOTHING unless it first takes it from some PERSON. SOMEBODY ALWAYS PAYS.
Look, I have a big enough problem paying for the 3rd and 4th generation slackers and welfare bums who were BORN here.
It’s time we stopped paying for those who were not.
