John S. Wilder needs 17 votes to remain Lt. Governor, but there are only 16 Democrats in the Tennessee Senate. That hasn't stopped him before.
Mike Fleming talks about him sometimes. That's not who the badguy from the old Walking Tall is based on is it?
Folks in Wiliams' District better start flooding his phonelines if they want him to vote for Ramsey instead of Wilder.
you mean Booger Wilder!
How did that Williams guy get reelected after having voted for Booger instead of the Republican for "Speaker of the Senate"?
Help save our fabric source!
Save our Fabric Dept Thread I make lap quilts for the VA Hospital spinal cord unit. in Memphis and Wal-Mart is the only source of fabric in Millington, TN...as a widow my income is very limited I can't afford to drive 20-30 minutes to the next 2 sources and pay $2.00 more per yard for fabric.
Quilting is my only hobby. I've made 10 lap quilts so far this year for the VA Hospital spinal cord unit.
For many rural women Wal-Mart is the ONLY source available for fabric for many miles around. Better yet call 800 Wal Mart and talk to a live person. Please pass on the petition to other quilters, sewers and crafters.
Because Williams hasn't faced the electorate, yet. He isn't up again until 2008. Whether it's enough to defeat him is questionable, as we have several RINOs who unapologetically vote to support Speaker Boss Hogg Naifeh. I've had respect for Speaker Wilder, but his leadership in the past 2 years has been an embarrassment. His rank senility is on full display, and despite having had a few seat majority for this session, he ensures the minority 'Rats are effectively in complete charge of the important committees.
After 36 years of leading the body, a record unmatched by anyone else in any state, it's time for a change.
Who cares? Williams will again help put in Wilder. The GOP is dead nationally and in Tennessee.
Even with majorities they are worthless. So they might as well be in the minority where history has proven they actually accomplish things.
