Fox News Sunday Transcript (Partial) for 11/12/06

This is part of follow up to the Sunday Talk Show Thread. I recently saw that we have to excerpt from Fox News web site, so I won't post the entire transcript. These are the seperate transcripts for todays interviews with Howard Dean and Dan Bartlett.

I will start this off with a comment from the Dean interview (post 1, below). I suggest that we only quote those specific statements that we are commenting on in each post. That should handle fair use requirements.

The first question from Wallace to Dean:

WALLACE: For all the talk now from Democratic leaders about governing from the center, there is a lot of speculation from both the right and the left that eventually the Democrats are going to show their true colors and govern as liberals.
DEAN: Well, I'll tell you something.... <snip>

DEAN: First of all, I think the words conservative and liberal are now meaningless. You have a conservative president who ran up the biggest budget deficit in the history of America. I don't know what those words mean anymore.
I think we're going to go back to the kind of governing, the kind of policies that we saw when Bill Clinton was president. We're going to have — I think balanced budget is very, very important. National security is very, very important. We want to implement the 9/11 commission recommendations.
And then I think you're going to see some things that we care about like — traditionally care about, like fixing the Medicare thing, the minimum wage and so forth and so on. But I think you're going to see the main focus on balancing the budget, which Bill Clinton was — was a Bill Clinton legacy, and on strong security, implementing 9/11.

The words conservative and liberal are only meaningless to a moral relativist liberal like you, Howie. You have so debased the language that you are unable to say anything honest anymore.

The "conservative president" didn't run up the biggest deficit in the history of America. He inherited a structural deficit created by 60 years of Democrat socialist programs capped off by the fraud that was the Clinton administration. A substantial majority of the deficit that we have run these last several years is the direct result of decisions made and frauds committed under Bill Clinton. The decision to use short term bonds instead of long term ones meant that the deficit spending from the first four years of the Clinton administration was shifted to the first years of the Bush administration. In addition the "miracle" that was the Clinton economy was a chimera made up of dot com fantasies and Enron book keeping. When that fake economy collapsed in 2000 it set off a sharp recession that, when coupled with spending on the war, is largely responsible for todays deficits.

And we are at war today because of policies and actions of the lunatic leftists in the Clinton administration. They cut the heart out of our military and squandered the "peace dividend" on their own reelection campaigns with more pork for the great unwashed in their districts (D and R alike). We are also paying for the excesses of the leftist America haters who siezed power in the 70s after Watergate, particularly the folks involved with things like the Church commission. People have died because of those liberal policies. Howard, you have blood on your hands.

And so forth and so on, yourself, you mindless twit.
