You mean it only took 3 convicted felons, dead people and multiple voters to accomplish this? We need to get a few of them to vote our way next time.

I thought we had a Republican Governor in during that time that made many of those districts as friendly as possible to us in Calif. I thought Wilson was still GOv

The fact is, however, if 3,615 votes in Virginia and 1,423 votes in Montana had gone the other way, the Dems would have no Majority. My point? The Dems will not be the “Permanent Majority” for too long.

Shoulda, coulda, woulda. Tester and Webb will be US Senators for the next SIX years. They will be incumbents the next time they run, like Allen and Burns were. Unless the Reps put up strong candidates, they will win again.

It took us 40 years to win the House and the Dems 12 years to regain it. We just suffered a major defeat. We shouldn't console ourselves with the closeness of the losses. That is the way the Dems think. Winning isn't everything, it is the only thing. We don't need or want moral victories.

I believe that is how it works. I mean if it was one vote between than the other team would still have won. This has been that way forever. I don't particularly like it either, but am glad because of how 2000 went especially. We only won by 524 votes....what is that percentage?

"I know the Republicans lost; it is time for sole searching..."

I bet you feel like a heel for typing that.

The atmosphere may look much different in 2008. The Democrats have been trying to take away the tools we need to fight terrorism....what if we get hit during their reign of terror? Will the economy tank when they don't renew the tax cuts? Unemployment rate is 4.4%...what will it be in 2008?

If any or all of those happen, the President gets blamed and the dems take the Presidency and bring a ton of new dem senators and representatives in too. Thats why the dems will be doing all they can to destroy the economy over the next two years. If America gets attacked, they'll consider that a bonus.

I like what Allen said he would not ask for a recount because it would cost to much money for the tax payers..He is a true conservative and American in my book..If it had of been Webb he would have drug it out just like Al Gore did and milk ever vote he could no matter what the cost..I know in any of the states if the Dem's lost which they probably did without great granny and papa coming back from the grave they could not have won a seat on the Price is right..Now without all the recounts the democrats will have more money to throw down the empty hole..

The Democrats will get the blame if we are attacked during their rein. I admit we have a lot of stupid voters but it's common knowledge that it's the democrats opposing the tools to fight this WOT.

There won't be enough stupid voters for the Democrats to win if that happens.   Even the MSM won't be able to cover for them.

The house is actually easier to take back, the Senate is tough because you get 6 years to entrench, and it's rare for turnover except when incumbents retire.

And I imagine some republicans won't like being in the minority and will retire, leaving us seats to defend.

Frist screwed us by retiring, I know people hated him as speaker but that was a seat we had to work for that otherwise we would not, and without that seat the democrats may not have even gotten in their head they could take the senate, and we could have held missouri and maybe montana (where we needed to remove Burns because of ties to Abramoff and then we would have won it easily).

Burns came on strong, but Tester took the lead early on.

I don't know what you mean by "notable" races. Every race is equally important.

"You watch: We'll get all three branches back in 2008."

With the help of another 5 -10 million illegals by then, I'm sure. ;<

Seriously, though, I believe if the truth be known, the election was stolen big time. No way in a million years will I believe that half the voters in America are stinking commie liberal socialist anti-American scum. If so, we are beyond repair.

Right. Remember, though, that these were mostly seats that had been wavering between (D) and (R) for a long time, anyway.

We lost the public trust, and we lost it for some time to come.

Somehow I think that "we" is not really the term you mean to use.
