UPPER MARLBORO, Md., Nov. 3 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The Committee for Common Sense Government, No on B,F,C,G today announced that the campaign to tell Prince George's County voters to vote no on ballot questions B, F, C and G is gaining momentum. Parents, seniors and civil workers, who have seen their television advertisement, have accessed their Web site in large numbers seeking more information about how the charter amendments waste taxpayer dollars, creates a $23 Million slush fund and compromises the safety of Prince George's families.
"Voters are outraged when they learn about these ballot questions and how they compromised the safety of Prince George's residents." said John Peter Thompson, the president-elect of the Prince George's County Chamber of Commerce. "Voters know that they will ultimately pay the price for these ineffective charter amendments."
Thompson told the Washington Post, this week, "My concern is that we're mucking up the process." The newspaper ran a story about the aggressive campaign.
"Thompson argues the amendments would be bad for small and minority businesses, subjecting them to politics and government bureaucracy before they could do work with the county. He also believes the amendments would make government less nimble in emergencies and claims that a provision to let the council reforecast county revenue estimates would result in a multi- million dollar slush fund for them to play with. Of curiosity, is there a reason the opponents of the ballot initiatives don't list their letters in alphabetical order?
I'm guessing it stands for Bad Farting County Government.
I might have gotten one of the letters wrong.
More likely "Bad For County Government", so that their assertion about the ballot measures becomes a mnemonic for which ones to vote down.
Well, I laughed.
B,F,C & G are Bad For County Government - Just an acronym I guess. pretty clever.
Yet they're not concerned about how bullets flying back and forth affects their safety.
