CHICAGO -- The Veterans of Foreign Wars' political action committee Friday endorsed a Republican congressional candidate with no military experience over a Democrat who lost her legs in combat in Iraq.
The endorsement of GOP state Sen. Peter Roskam over Tammy Duckworth angered some Illinois veterans, as well as national figures such as former Sen. Bob Kerrey, a veteran who lost a leg in Vietnam.
"They should be ashamed of themselves," he said. "They have some explaining to do to their members."
Duckworth is a former Black Hawk helicopter pilot with the Army who lost her legs when her aircraft was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade

It's Duckworth who has some splainin to do. She trashed the President and by extension her fellow troops. Said we ought not be in this war, that the money should have been spent on health care and education.
Getting wounded does not give you dispensation from the FACTS.

Service should be honored but should never, ever be a guaranty of an endorsement....hell, how many criminals were veterans? Should we send them all to elected office too?

Okay...this is the "vet card"...right??
If she wants to come home and join the party of cut and run, which would effectively make the loss of her legs for NOTHING...she shouldn't expect the rest of the vets to back her..

Sen. Bob Kerrey, a veteran who lost a leg in Vietnam. "They should be ashamed of themselves," he said. "They have some explaining to do to their members." So according to Senator Bob a veteran should be endorsed even if they are running as a sheeple cut and run Democrat.
Bob did you vote for George 41, did you vote for Bob Dole?

Olbermann said that no one could criticize Duckworth about anything because she lost her legs in the war. He was serious.

I am so sick and tired of the rats dragging these haters out of the woodwork simply because they have a sad story/injury/tragic loss, etc..

Just because a person loses their legs means they would be a good congress critter?

...it's the democrats who should be ashamed of themselves for harking the "sympathy" vote. See in this case it's clear, you either vote or support "our" legless candidate
or your shameful
(another rat technique they don't want exposed)

The VFW has an obligation to it's members to support the candidate who is most likely to share their values and to represent and protect their interest. I strongly suspect that the endorsement was predicated on a careful examination of these matters.

Gee, what we he do if Duckworth and Cleeland ran against each other in a primary?

Outstanding point.
Wasn't Eric Rudolph, hated enemy of the baby-killing left, a veteran? Ask 'em if they'd like to see him elected.
