Serbia set itself against the international community and Kosovo's ethnic Albanians yesterday by endorsing a new constitution declaring Kosovo for ever part of Serbia, only a few months before it is expected to lose the province.
The new constitution, Serbia's first as an independent state since 1918, was rushed through by the nationalist prime minister, Vojislav Kostunica, to pre-empt a UN security council decision on the status of Kosovo due by the end of the year.
US, EU and Kosovo Albanian officials dismissed the vote as irrelevant, but Mr Kostunica insisted the new constitution would safeguard Serbia's "territorial integrity". "We made clear that Kosovo is part of Serbia," he declared.
Frank Wisner, the senior US official dealing with Kosovo, went to Belgrade yesterday for two days of talks with Serbian leaders aimed at heading off conflict as the UN nears a decision.
While the Serbs voted overwhelmingly to keep Kosovo (more than 96% of the 54% turnout), the Kosovo Albanians had no say in the matter. They were not included on the electoral rolls.
Tensions are rising as Kosovo's formal break with Serbia looms. Diplomats fear there could be an eruption of violence if the Albanian majority are disappointed by an international compromise.

Sounds pretty good to me. Serbia the boss, Kosovo, shut up and sing. About time. Since when does the UN have the right to settle nit-picking property disputes, when they ought to be doing something about real genocide in various African nations, or is it, among various African Tribes. I forget.
Let the Serbians's take care of the noisy group that thinks they can insurgent themselves a separate country just because they are a majority. Didn't they become the majority, by being ruthless little manures and running or ruining many if not most of the Serbian minority?

Albanian muslims bacame majority by genocide and buying-off remainder of Serb property, much like Arabs in Betlehem and otehr teritories. "here is lot of dope, take it and sell your property or we will kill you and your family and no one will protect you"
Question is, when the war starts anew, who is going to defend whom?
Perhaps the only thing more disgusting than lying liberals are the liberals from Perfidous Albion.
Albanians are not even majority. There is approx. 10 million people living in Serbia, out of whom some 1.8 are Albanians. Many of them are illegal aliens from neighboring Albania and have no citizenship. The number of Albanians who are citizens of Serbia is approx. one million, or 10% of the population.
The fact that they chose to live on 15% of Serbia's territory and thus present relative majority on 4000 sq. mi. has nothing with their alleged right to secede and take part of Serbia with them.
It could set very dangerous precedent and set a world on fire.
The 64 billion question is - does Condy intend to set such a precedent?

Indeed, it does make more sense that the attempt at gathering territory that does not belong to them would be something a minority would attempt, much like the illegal alien problem here in the USA, and they can be much more aggressive in their demands because of the minority status.
