WASHINGTON —  The following is a partial transcript of the Oct. 29, 2006, edition of "FOX News Sunday With Chris Wallace":

"FOX NEWS SUNDAY" HOST CHRIS WALLACE: We want to begin our coverage of the home stretch of this campaign by taking a look at two of the key Senate races. In Tennessee, Democratic Congressman is running for an open seat now held by the GOP. Congressman Ford joins us now from Nashville. We should note we also invited his Republican opponent, but was not available.

Congressman Ford, let's take a look at the RealClearPolitics.com average of all the key polls in your state in recent weeks. Let's take a look at it here. It shows your opponent, Mr. Corker, with a two-point lead. Is that where the race is now, Congressman, and, given the Republican advantage in fund-raising, finances and voter turnout organization, how do you overcome that in the final week?

REP. HAROLD FORD: Well, we have polls showing a little different. The momentum here is outstanding on our side. I think the real issue in the campaign has emerged. People in Tennessee who are satisfied being paramedics and cops and firefighters with health insurance premiums, who are satisfied with this war in Iraq, they don't want to vote for me, because I'm going to go to Washington and be a part of shaking up an effort, or I should say, shaking up a system that just is failing ordinary working people in the country.

If cops, paramedics, fireman, and Americans who believe there is a real threat to the county from Islamofacists aren't ordinary working people, then exactly whose vote is potential Rep. Ford seeking?

Chris Wallace should have had to file with the FEC since that segment was just a commercial for Ford. What's with the victimization thing with Ford. Ford's a big boy. His whole family is in the game, for generations. And somebody takes a shot at him and everybody in the media comes crying to his defense so nobody will have to actually answer the factual statements in the ads?? F'ing sick.

Ford didn't come off very well, though. And he looked bad.

After his faux pas today about Republican Christians, I honestly think he's toast.

For a man who supposedly represents the 'little' people JUNIOR sure disrespects them. And certainly votes the opposite of what he espouses. His rating from the enviro-whackos proves he wants to keep our Troops playing "Oil Cops"!

Oil Cops Ford, who must give up his seat to run for the Senate, says that within the next 10 years a lot of situations will develop that will have to be resolved by the government. As far as priorities, he says the U.S. must find a way to reduce the country’s dependence on foreign oil, and especially Middle East oil.

"It will reduce the likelihood of U.S. soldiers having to serve as oil cops in the Middle East and will increase productivity and wealth in this country if we develop new energy products and new technology to fuel our cars," said Ford. "We could even export those products to China, Indonesia, India and Mexico where there is a great need for these things."
