The more insidious assumption that is tact is that people do as they are told (by their superiors, clearly this must mean the affluent but intellectually lazy)

Foxnews is unwatchable except for some brief moments on Brit Hume show and I say brief moments because even Brit Hume show contains a lot of doom and gloom for Republicans. I reduce watching news on TV by over 90% from what I used to watch before, it is much less nerve racking for us to get the news from Free Republic, we freepers get more accurate news and we engage in highly intellectual discussion, and we make much better predictions and analysis than any media pundit.

How are things looking for the GOP on your corner?

A more accurate question would be:

"What percentage of votes are manufactured for the democrats by the main stream media?"

"Fox didn't have an effect only for (electing President George W.) Bush, but in general in voting for Republicans," explains the study's co-author, Stefano DellaVigna, professor of economics at the University of California at Berkeley. "So one can infer that people didn't just listen and say, `Oh, Bush sounds good from the coverage on Fox.' It seems that Fox changed their ideological beliefs."

One can infer that the sky is blue. What crap!

The number of Healey signs is surprising. It is looking better than the polls say if you count signs.

The polls stink for us and I can only hope that the Unions fail to deliver the members (who apparently were told that they had to say that they would vote for Deval)

I would be more interested in counting how many dead voters select Democrats vs Republicans.

O'Reilly isn't hard news. There is a huge difference between hard news reporting and opinion journalism. The first should be unbiased, the second is, by its very nature, biased.

Too bad this author doesn't know the difference.

Didn't know you were from MA! Well, learn sth every day...

"The number of Healey signs is surprising. It is looking better than the polls say if you count signs."

Yes! I'm worried about Patrick winning. Virtually everyone around me is either gushing over him or don't have anything nice to say about her. The weirdesxt things are those who agreee with her politics but like Deval more. How ridiculous is that?! I just wrote an editorial urging people to vote not on their distaste but on policy issues. Let's hope it works. It's mind numbing how petty people can be.

I didn't know that you had written an editorial, but I am glad that you did. I liked the editorial in the Herald today that said that she was a better candidate than she portrayed herself in her campaign.

I am encouraged as I know self described liberals who are at odds with the current state legislature (as in, holy cow, what planet are these people from?). I will also say that I have been surprised by Prop 2 1/2 override defeats in my town (don't get me wrong, I like it!). I am wondering if voters will understand that if it's not Healey, we can expect the demise of Prop 2 and 1/2 and the full reinstatement of the Bulger mob.

Another source of consolation --Not that this is scientific -- but an unidentified caller to Howie Carr said that the union bosses are forcing their members to answer the polls that they will vote for "Free Em All" Deval. He said that is the opposite of how he will vote.
I am hoping he is representative of his organization.

It's for my College paper, nothing big.

I read the herald article, excellent article. I wish I had it with me when writing mine.

" I am wondering if voters will understand that if it's not Healey, we can expect the demise of Prop 2 and 1/2 and the full reinstatement of the Bulger mob."

I hope the voters know this and more. All this gushing over Patrick makes me think the whole state is going to vote for that Clintonista. Ugh.

Hmm, he reminds me of Obama.

Hope so too. Can't wait for the 7th. :P
