OK, then while I agree with his warning illegals about this being against the law, he is way off base trying to scare immigrants who are legally here. If a Democrat had done this we would all be up in arms. We can't use scare tactics to win elections or we are following the Democrats in their scaring of senior citizens and many others.

Immigrants who haven't applied for and gotten citizenship should not even be thinking of voting in our elections.

This applies to all of 'em, not just the illegal aliens (who are not, as it turns out, "immigrants" ~ calling them "immigrants" would be like calling a house robber a "guest").

He's not trying to "scare" anybody. Just to tell people who aren't eligible to vote - i.e., immigrants -- that they will be breaking the law if they vote. If I tell you that you shouldn't run a red light - or you could get ticketed - am I "trying to scare you"? By your logic, I guess it's an exercise in intimidation.

How would a Democrat scare off potential Republican voters? .............................................................................................................................................Tell them they have to kiss Madeline Albright after pulling the lever.

Which, of course, he didn't do. The first paragraph of the letter said:

If you are a citizen of the U.S. we encourage you to participate in the democratic process.

Immigrants who are here legally are not eligible to vote unless they are naturalized citizens. Being a legal immigrant does not automatically make you a naturalized citizen, first you have to get legal residency, and after a certain amount of time has passed, you can then apply for citizenship if you so desire.

The English version of the letter was very clear. The only issue was that "resident alien" was translated as a word that is the same as "immigrant."

It is legal resident aliens are not allowed to vote either.

READ the letter it says if you are here ILLEGALLY you cannot vote. I don't understand how anyone can make an issue of the letter, even if you are a legal resident you still cannot vote unless you are a citizen. I always tell folks words mean things, read the words.

If "scare tactics", namely a recitation of the law, deters people from unlawfully voting or attempting to vote, seems to me that's to the good.

Unless you are planning on using a bunch of unlawful voters yourself to win the election. You aren't are you?
