The Bob Corker for U.S. Senate campaign today denounced a new Republican National Committee ad that began airing today which, the campaign says, is over the top, tacky and is not reflective of the kind of campaign we are running.
The new RNC ad we have just seen on our local broadcast outlets is tacky, over the top and is not reflective of the kind of campaign we are running, said Tom Ingram, campaign chairman for the Corker campaign. While we cannot legally communicate directly with the RNC regarding ads of this nature, we can certainly do so through the media.
Last week, Ingram blasted WHIN radio, in Gallatin, Tn., for airing an offensive, reprehensible advertisement attacking Harold Ford. That ad was pulled.
Ingram stated today that, Bob Corker believes this new ad has no place in this, or any other campaign.
The Ford campaign on Thursday hit a Corker ad called Memphis Man on the Street.
Ford for Tennessee senior advisor Michael Powell said, "Bob Corker said at the outset of this campaign that he wouldnt attack the Ford family, that he would make this campaign about the issues.
With his new ad, Mr. Corker has proven how morally and intellectually bankrupt his campaign has become. He has no ideas, he has no vision and now we know he has no integrity.
Three weeks away from the election, Mr. Corker still does not understand that he is running for the Senate against Harold Ford, Jr. and no one else.
This is not what Tennesseans have come to expect from their senators. It is an embarrassment to the legacy of Kefauver, Baker and Gore, and an insult to the voters who hunger for a debate about the issues rather than a wave of negative and malicious attacks.
Mr. Corker has crawled in the gutter and it is now clear that he will permanently reside there until the election. Tennesseans deserve better.
Obviously, it's the latter.
According to libs, every sickness and disease can be cured if they are allowed to experiment on humans. There is even more cures available if they happen to be Christians or Jews.
You got that right. Afterall, it was the Nazis who gave us that miraculous wonder drug (sarc/off), RU486 after experimenting on the Jews in WWII.
You're completely right.
This is a typical Democratic tactic, play on the ignorance of the masses. Because most voters probably didn't see and weren't aware of these Senate debates, Ford just plays to that ignorance to put forward the impression that Corker is dodging debating him. There are so many examples of this kind of thing, playing to the ignorance of the rabble, that's become a staple of Democratic deception efforts they're just too numerous to mention.
Ford knew his stunt would get wide play and plant the deceit in peoples' minds that Corker has yet to debate him, that more people would see this on the local news than saw the debates. He clearly hoped he could deceive enough people that it could turn the momentum away from Corker. This is a desperate and pathetic tactic and indicates Ford knows this race is slipping out of his hands.
There isn't enough money in the world to support all of the children that John Ford has sired!!!!!!
I think this latest stunt was something the brillant man thought of himself, rather than on marching orders from his crooked dad. We White Devils as his dad calls us are not buying JUNIOR's slick move to the center.
The hunter who says you know he's right, I don't need a gun" is funny too. :)
Who's to say that this wasn't feigned outrage? By complaining about it he draws attention to it.
It wasn't that bad of an ad....
Let's let Canada deal with NK, they're not busy...
Ford looks good, isn't that enough?
If zombie has this at +7 Corker it must be better. He always over polls rats and freely admits it. With the crazy stunt whitey ford pulled his internal polls must be showing him down as well. Winnng doesn't make you stalk your opponent.
Thats what Foley said
Good! Work to get out the vote for Corker there in your area of Tennessee. Even if you make phone calls that is a huge help. We've got to beat the Dems. with our ground operation and that means people like you and me getting out the vote.
If this RNC ad caused Ford to try to crash Corker's press conference, then it served its purpose. Ford made a fool of himself. The ad can now be pulled.
"Harold, Call Me".
That's a funny ad. They should have run that a couple of months ago. It's not a good ad for right before the race, when voters are focused. If it had run a couple of months ago, Corker might not have had to denounce it.
On the other hand, Corker denouncing it means everybody will show it to show what is being denounced.
The RNC says it is standing by the ad and plans to keep running it.
Will be interesting to see how long this stance lasts.
Took my youngest to vote today, and made sure he'd vote Yes on the 2 admendments and for the GOP canidates. He detest JUNIOR too.
That is rather amusing...but a bit over the top. If they just slightly toned it down it would have been fine - that guy saying "Canada can take care of North Korea. They're not that busy" was really funny. The Playboy girl was what probably caused Corker to want this ad dropped - over dramatic.
Oh...LOL "When I die Harold Ford will let me pay taxes again." LOL!
When I die Harold Ford will let me pay taxes again.
