MADRID, Spain

"Spain has devised a school textbook it calls unique in Europe — a primer for Muslim first-graders to learn about Islam but do so in the local language and thus not feel like outsiders, officials said Wednesday."...

"Europe has 40 million Muslims and governments don't know what to do to assimilate them," Lopez said in an interview. "This book is a hint."

Their actions will ultimately result in them being assimilated. Do they teach a christian primer in their schools there?

But only an estimated 3,500 Muslim first-graders — 6-year-olds — study Islam formally in public schools and there are only 33 teachers who give those classes, Lopez said

And this is a bad thing? A figure closer to zero would be preferable.

They were not exactly saints. When it came to Jews, they had them expelled from Spain. But at least they didn't chop their heads off................

The govermnemt of Spain is socialist. Socialists and other leftists see the proponents of the ideology of death and destruction as "downtrodden", "oppressed", "underclass" and do everything they can to promote them and eliminate the "oppressors", i.e. the white people.
Anyone left who doubts the leftist-jihadist alliance?

From what I have heard, the book is published by a publishing house owned by the Catholic Church and it seems like a pretty good idea to me.

The difference between a Dwight Eisenhower and a Herman Goering is not their 100% German blood but what and how they were taught when they were being raised.

If a kid in Spain is being raised by his parents as a Muslim, it is better that he be taught the Catholic Church version of how good Muslims should behave rather than having some radical Islamist cleric at a madras school teaching him the jihad version of how good Muslims should behave.

They also expelled the Muslims from Spain, and the Inquisition was designed to "out" Muslims and Jewish "leftovers" who had high positions in Government after 1492.

See Post 10.

The adults are a lost cause. However, young children can be molded .......... especially if what the parents have to offer is no fun at all.

The choice is to teach the children a Westernized version of Islam-Lite or allow them to be only taught a radical version of Islam at madras schools that are 21st Century equivalents of the Hitler Youth.

When the article said 40 million, I went to the CIA site on Spain and posted population figures.
Then I reread post and it said Europe had 40 million Muslims.

"From what I have heard, the book is published by a publishing house owned by the Catholic Church and it seems like a pretty good idea to me."

Not sure what the standing of this publishing house actually is in the eyes of the Church. Remember, groups like Pax Christi and Catholics for a Free Choice also claim to speak for the Church but they do not.

Do not misunderstand...this book was not written by the Church - The book Discovering Islam - for primary school children - was written in Spanish by a Muslim leader.

Naive, well-meaning bridge builders have caused much damage through the years...

I think this a very bad idea...

Spain's government endorses it? I vote against it then...very socialist agenda lately.

Which is the goal, isn't it?
