NEW YORK -- Civil rights lawyer Lynne Stewart was sentenced to 28 months in prison in federal court in Manhattan Monday. She was convicted of providing support to terrorists by helping a jailed Egyptian sheik communicate with his followers on the outside.
Before sentencing, her lawyer told the judge that any prison sentence for Stewart would be a death sentence because of her serious health problems.
Stewart pleaded with the judge to allow her to live out the rest of her life "productively, lovingly, righteously.''
Assistant US Attorney Andrew Dember rejected defense suggestions that Stewart's conduct was judged differently after
9-11.
"This case had nothing to do with September 11,'' Dember told the judge. "What she was doing was smuggling terrorism messages and smuggling out Abdel-Rahman's responses.''
When Stewart arrived at the courthouse this morning, about 150 supporters chanted "Free Lynne, Free Lynne.''
Federal prosecutors say she had released a statement by Omar Abdel-Rahman, a blind sheik sentenced to life in prison after he was convicted in plots to blow up five New York landmarks and assassinate Egypt's president.
"Why not an 'Ugliest Liberal in America' contest?
Would YOU want to be a judge in that pageant?"
And live with that kind of emotional trauma? No way! My EYES! Oh, my EYES!
" The judge said Stewart could remain free pending appeal, a process that could take more than a year."

Words escape me for how awful this is. It is virtually no time. She talks like a terrorist and supports them. Get the word out that the judge was a Clinton appointee, hopefully even Demonrats can condemn this.

I think we are in agreement with this. If she was judged differently after 9/11, it was not because her judgement was wrong, it would be because judgements before 9/11 were weak, and therefore, wrong.

She's not a civil-rights lawyer. She's a Marxist would-be civil rights abuser like her hero Castro. If she had her way all civil liberties would cease to exist. Her lifes work is to create a worldwide Marxist state. She is an enemy of freedom and humanity. Someday traitors like her will not have a fellow-travelling judge be able to protect her.

This is why we MUST get out the vote in November... Mark Levin was reading some articles on his show tonight where they (the left) is so confident they are going to win they are boldly talkin out about what they really believe in and will do once elected.
In other words, no sentence whatsoever.
