Saddam says victory at hand against U.S. occupation
Reuters ^ | October 15 2006 | Suleiman al Khalidi

Posted on 10/15/2006 12:43:33 PM PDT by jmc1969

In an open letter, Saddam Hussein told Iraqis "victory was at hand" and urged insurgents to show magnanimity to opponents, saying he himself forgave Iraqis who aided the killers of his two sons.

In the letter dictated to his chief lawyer Khalil Dulaimi during a four-hour meeting on Saturday in his prison, the former Iraqi leader also said Iraqis should put aside differences and set only one goal - to drive U.S. troops out of Iraq.

"Victory is at hand but don't forget that your near-term goal is confined to liberating your country from the forces of occupation," Saddam said in the letter, a copy of which was obtained by Reuters on Sunday.

Dulaimi said the letter was written days before the court trying Saddam over the killing of 148 Shi'ite men from the town of Dujail in the 1980s is due to meet on Monday to review witness testimony.

Saddam urged his Sunni minority community, the backbone of the insurgency, to even forgive Iraqi informants who helped U.S. troops track down and kill his two sons, Uday and Qusay, in a gunbattle at a house in Mosul in 2003.

"When you achieve victory and it is close.. remember you are God's soldiers which means you should show genuine forgiveness and put aside revenge over the spilt blood of the sons of Saddam Hussein," Saddam wrote.

"I call on you to apply justice in your Jihad (holy war) and not be drawn to recklessness and urge you to be forgiving rather than tough with those who have lost the path," he added.

Question: If a former dictator, mass murdering, incoherent babbling lunatic, freak opines about anything and no one listens, what happens?

Answer: The RATS and LIBS lose the next page of their playbook and go silent on the next media cycle.

Somehow I predict that Saddam will be freed one day. If his lawyers and the Iraqi court allow his trial to extend beyond when the US troops leave, you can bet the Sunni insurgents will conduct a maneuver to extract him out of prison (either through bribes, thuggery, or by force)

NO way. Not as long as Bush is President. Even if the democrats do win (still a big if) and vote to 'de-fund' the war, I don't see us 'cutting and running'. I am confident that Bush won't let that happen. He has nothing to lose politically, and won't be dictated to. If the democrats push withdrawal they will pay dearly politically. I'm confident about that, but not sure of the timing for their 'payment'. History has a way of revealing the truth.

I want something more than hanging. Hanging is too easy. Here's a few possibilities:
1. Let him loose in a gauntlet of women.
2. Tie him up in the town square and let everyone throw shoes at him.
3. Make him kneel, and then cut his head off. Dull knife needed.
4. Gas him.
5. Draw and quarter. Send bits to the farthest reaches of Iraq. Each piece dipped in pig's blood to prevent it from being a martyr relic.

saying he himself forgave Iraqis who aided the killers of his two sons.

Well...he sounds sincere. Lets put him back in power and give him the names and locations of those who helped us get his sons so that he can personally tell them that he forigives them. I mean, whats the harm? /sarcasm

LETTER: Bush Took My Job, Killed My Sons

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak my mind.

I lost my job this past year. When Clinton was president I was secure and prosperous, but in the last year, we had to close our operations. We simply could not compete with foreign labor. This foreign labor worked for low pay under very bad conditions. They worked very long shifts, and many even died on the job. This competition could hardly be called "fair." I was forced out of the place where I had worked for 34 years. Not a single government program was there to help me. How can Bush call himself "compassionate?"

Far worse, I lost two of my sons in Bush's evil war in Iraq. They gave their lives for their country, and for what? So that Bush's oil buddies can get rich. My pain of losing my sons is indescribable.

While it is trivial next to the loss of my sons, I regret to say that I also lost my home. I simply have nothing left. How can Bush call himself a Christian when he neglects people like me?

I am a senior citizen with various medical problems. I'm not in a position where I can begin a new career. I was reduced to the point where I had to live in a hole in a ground, all because of President Bush. And when the authorities found me there, did they have any compassion for my misfortune and ailments? No, I was arrested. Mr. Bush, I dare you to look me in the face and tell me you are a compassionate man! I dare you to look me in the face and tell me you are a Christian!

If I had any money left, I would donate it to the Democrat Party. If Al Gore had been elected in 2000 I would still have a job, a home, and most importantly, my dear sons!

Regards,

Saddam Hussein

Obviously, Saddam believes the American TV/media slant on the Iraq war. He has also probably lined up a sponsor for the Nobel Peace Prize as soon as the RATS liberate him. We will be calling him 'Uncle Saddam' by the time the media get through polishing up his image. However, it will not happen on President Bush's watch so he will have to dream on for now.
