This is a tale of two predators. The first is a congressman who befriended teenage pages. He sent them cajoling instant messages asking them to describe their sexual habits, so he could get his jollies.

The second is a secretary, who invited a 13-year-old girl from her neighborhood into her car and kissed her. Then she invited the girl up to her apartment, gave her some vodka, took off her underwear and gave her a satin teddy to wear.

Puh-leeze, Brooks. Spare us the psychobabble. It can be boiled down to a simple, irrefutable concept. If a liberal does it, it's good, or at least should be downplayed. If a pubbie does it, it's grounds for political attack.

Nonsense. The 'code' isn't turning. It's getting more liberal. Witness all the attempts at establishing gay marriage.

What's going on here is simple. The 'Rats smeared Foley in hopes that the sheeple had forgotten about Studds (and Clinton and Mel Reynolds and Barney Frank) and would hold Republicans to a higher standard.

Conduct to be admired in Democrats and the Vagina Monologues bitch is dastardly when done by Republicans! If Foley were still a Democrat, the 'Rats would be whining about a gay witch hunt.

I'm a sole practitioner now in part because my former partner's wife asked if I wanted to go with her and some friends to see the VM. I told her that I wouldn't walk across the street to see it if someone paid me $50. She also wanted me to contribute big time to the March of Dimes and I told them that I didn't like their pro abortion policies. I'm happier now.

The premise of this article is dumb. Of course we're more repelled by real behavior like Foley, than by imaginary behavior of the characters in the monologue.

I respectfully disagree. I think it's a good article on two levels: It shows where (in our pop culture) guys like Foley or Gerry Studds get the idea that they're "empowered" to act as they do. Secondly, it reveals the endless hypocrisy of those Lefties who embrace the "VM" on the one hand, and condemn Foley as the world's most dangerous predator (for partisan political reasons) on the other. I've got ten bucks that says both Hillary and Nancy Pelosi have seen the offending play.
