Democrats launch new Foley offensive against Republicans
CNN ^ | 10/7/06

(CNN) -- Democrats used the Foley scandal to turn up the heat on Republicans on Saturday, a month before congressional elections that put control of the House and Senate at stake.

The Democrats devoted their weekly radio address to the matter, accusing the Republican leaders in the House of ignoring then-Rep. Mark Foley's "obvious predatory signals" in order "to protect their political power."

Foley, who quit as a Florida representative last month, is said to have sent sex messages over the Internet to teenage boys who had been congressional pages. Republican leaders, including Speaker Dennis Hastert, are accused of knowing about Foley's behavior and not stopping it.

Patty Wetterling, a candidate for a U.S. House seat whose own son Jacob was kidnapped when he was 11 and never seen again, spoke on behalf of the Democrats.

"We need to stop the sexual exploitation of children across the country, and in Washington we must hold accountable all those complicit in allowing this victimization to happen," said Wetterling, a Minnesota child safety advocate .

Sounds remarkably like the Laura Ingraham Show these past few days.

This may turn out to be a fly in their ointment:)

Foley could face state charges if federal case is weak

Some comments:

"The Federal case will be against the Democrats!! POP the POPCORN!!"

Yep...and it will include a former democrat congressmen, a former district attorney general in (a state I can not name right now), and many other nefarious characters.

OHH..and an 'internet service provider' (that will blow your mind)!

The info I gathered during the last week is now in the hands of the FBI (before it was only phoned in to three different agencies in two states....lol...you will understand why at a later date).

It is also in the hands of the Speaker of the House Dennis Hastert (faxed).

It is in the hands of my attorney (in case I get dragged into this for finding it in open source material and some fancy lawyer wants to try and intimidate me) and trusted friends.

It needs to be let out and soon. You folks be the judge! Let the American people decide!

At the very least, these actors in this larger potential conspiracy need to be hauled before a GRAND JURY...and sworn in to testify before the CONGRESS!

Every trusted individual in my life is urging me to release the info.

Pretty soon..this is not going to be about Mark Foley and his despicable acts.....and if it does not get brought into these hearings on some technicality...the American people are going to demand separate Congressional Hearings when they hear this!

Folks, there are files disappearing from my computer now...emails dropping into a blackhole...hang up calls from hidden numbers (3 from DC) since I started putting this potential part of the puzzle together.

Thankfully, it has been stored elsewhere and printed out...all of the files and emails.

There are plenty of people now in the know (for you du lurkers and moles)...the story will come out and there is not going to be any way for the dems to spin this one!!

WHEWW...that felt good!

Nite ALL!

"I didn't understand why it would envelope a former Dem member and an asst dist. atty.....are we on the wrong track with zeroing in on the Katsaros's and Soros??"

I would not say that at all..look at how much relevant info freepers and bloggers have turned up already!! It is phenomenal! You guys have been getting to the immediate questions..like who are the actors, who knew and when, etc....that is important stuff. I just went in a different direction and turned up some disturbing info that may or may not have anything to do with this case, but when the American people find out about it....the normal ones are NOT GOING TO WANT TO VOTE FOR A DEMOCRAT FOR A VERY LONG TIME!!

Sometimes if we always shout 'SOROS' (even though he is involved) we start to sound like we blame everything on a left wing conspiracy(even though there is one). It just makes sense to go after the small and medium fish first. Often when they get hauled into a grand jury..they will spill the beans.

I am so fed up with their hypocrisy. Gerry Studds never resigned, Bill Clinton never resigned, Barney Frank never resigned...

It appears that there were indications that Foley had an interest in pages way back in 1995 when Slick was President and Reno was A.G. Seems to me that if the Dems were so offended by Foley's actions that they could have "Saved" the Children of Capitol Hill when they had a chance.

There was no coverup. HERE is the whole problem. OUR side has decided to play it as a "plauge on all their houses" rather then holding the Junk Media accountable for their factual errors.
I would love someone to ask one of these people. WHAT should Hastert of done? A Rep comes to him and tells him about 2 emails sent by another Rep to one of his constituents. Remember Hastert is an older male. Imagining he is going to have all the hip late 1990s dogma about how to spot a Sexual Predators down is nonsense. They look into it. The emails are not actionable. They sit the guy down and tell him to knock it off. HE knocks it off. There is NO report of any contact AFTER the warning was issued. Innocent until proven Guilty ISN'T just a slogan. In the perfect world, what was Hastert suppose to do?

I agree, I think the Republican Congressional Leadership has been very weak. However, we should be thinking only about winning Nov 7. House Cleaning takes place AFTER you win and start setting up leadership for the new Congress. You do not clean house BEFORE you win.

I agree-unity is what we need now, not intra party bickering. To be honest, I think the Dems are overplaying this hand...

Agreed. Human Events website has a top 10 list of good choices that could be considered afterwards. But first we must win!

All this Foley stuff may be put on a back burner when the N. Koreans explode their nuke. That will take up the time of the MSM and though a "blame Bush" will be the spin, The American people might start again thinking about their security.

This is getting downright offense. Foley is a leering gay geezer who can type with one hand. To equate teenage pages (who apparently laughed at Foley behind his back) with missing and exploited children, children who have been raped or murdered, is sickening. I hope the voters of Minnesota are smart enough to see through this.

The choice this election cycle is between the corrupt overspending politicians and the corrupt overspending politicians who will defend the country and don't want to take our guns away.

When Bubba was predatoring Monica, he was 52 years old...just like Foley.

The DIFFERENCE is that Bubba was with Monica IN OUR WHITE HOUSE engaging in sexual "whatever"....not miles apart. Let's review Bubba's phone calls again.

And let's remember that Chelsea was 9 years old at the time. How disgusting that he would do "whatever" with Monica and then go home and hug Chelsea.

And puleeeeez don't ever tell me that Hillary didn't know. She said he had changed his ways since the other chicks were out of the picture PRIOR to his election.

With Hillary, it's all about "don't get caught". She has already said that if he did it again (while she was in office), it would be handled as a private matter.

I agree about the GOP leadership (or lack of it). Hastert has always seemed to be going with the flow from the day he was installed. He reminds me too much of Bob Michel, the lame, wimpy, minority leader that the GOP had for years....more interested in his title than what could be accomplished.

Yeah, but in regard to N. Korea...

If Bush does nothing, he will be blamed.
If he bombs them, he will be blamed.
No one, but us, will talk about Madame Albright and her deal with the commies.

Haven't heard her lately. Has she jumped on the anti-Hastert bandwagon?
