Pro-Homosexual Political Correctness Sowed Seeds for Foley Scandal
FRC Washington Update ^ | 10/2/06 | Tony Perkins

Posted on 10/02/2006 2:44:09 PM PDT by madprof98

Democrats seeking to exploit the resignation of Rep. Mark Foley (R-FL) are right to criticize the slow response of Republican congressional leaders to his communications with male pages. But neither party seems likely to address the real issue, which is the link between homosexuality and child sexual abuse. Foley, an unmarried 52-year-old representative, had always refused to answer questions about his sexual orientation. Now that his emails and messages to teenage male pages have been revealed, it appears clear that Foley is a homosexual with a particular attraction to underage boys. While pro-homosexual activists like to claim that pedophilia is a completely distinct orientation from homosexuality, evidence shows a disproportionate overlap between the two. Although almost all child molesters are male and less than 3% of men are homosexual, about a third of all child sex abuse cases involve men molesting boys--and in one study, 86% of such men identified themselves as homosexual or bisexual. Ignoring this reality got the Catholic Church into trouble over abusive priests, and now it is doing the same to the House GOP leadership. They discounted or downplayed earlier reports concerning Foley's behavior--probably because they did not want to appear "homophobic." The Foley scandal shows what happens when political correctness is put ahead of protecting children.

The point of the article is valid, except that in DC 16 is age of consent, so it's not a matter of 'underage', only of abuse of authority.

As well he should. It's no one's business (unless, of course, what he is doing is illegal).

But hitting on a 16 year old boy is wrong. Glad he resigned. I just wonder if charges will follow.

Time we start warning boys and young men. These predators can't reproduce within their disgusting relationships so they have to prey on someone else's boys to increase their numbers. It's sick!

No more gay Republicans in office. It's absolutely too risky because while the Dems can live like moral slobs, Republicans have to be as pure as Jesus because the MSM will crucify them if they step out of line. The really disgusting part is that they are not satisfied with Foley's resignation but want to take down the entire House leadership while they are at it. Meanwhile, Wm. Jefferson is still in business, no doubt taking in more cold hard cash.

It is a matter of "underage" now, since Foley sponsored legislation to make it a crime to solicit sex via internet w/ those under 18.

This is "News of the Weird" level irony.

Well good ole Tony Perkins just stepped into it.lol.

I am sure I am in the minority here. , but I am not really wanting to bite on this out all the homosexuals and bisexuals in the party business. That will kill us and it is exactly the reaction the blogactive folks want.

Ah, well, in that case there *may* be a crime. Or perhaps not. If he was already having a sexual liason with the page, initiated in person, it's not so clear "I miss you", "I'm hot for you", etc. content e-mails and IM's could be considered solicitation of sex.

The Foley case is just an aberration. It's still quite appropriate for active homosexuals to be Boy Scout troop leaders.

I will defer to Ken Mehlman and David Dreier as to the official Republican position on this issue.

As bad as it is the leadership can not get their story straight is that they knew that Foley was perverted homosexual and said nothing about it. I'm sure we'll hear that picking up 16-17 year old boys is part of the "lifestyle" and its our responsibility to embrace, celerbate and tolerate it.

90% of boys are are the victims of sexual molestation are molested by unrelated MALE persons... That's the reality folks.

Girls are by and large assaulted by persons within their own families.

Both assaults are dispicable and unconscionable.. however when a group that represents maybe 1% of the complete adult male population is responsible for 9 out of 10 assaults on boys... you can't, unless you are in abject denial, claim that homosexuals are "just like everyone else."

Homosexuality is a mental disease, and male homosexuality in particularly is a predatory self destructive psychosis.

You can only believe its no ones business if you have swallowed hook line and sinker that homosexuals are not mentally ill and not predatory.

Sorry, but the evidence overwhelmingly does NOT support that belief.

Homosexuality, particularly male homosexuality is a self destructive and predatory mental disorder.

Sorry, but if you wish to be elected to office, and you have a self destructive and predatory mental disorder, its absolutely the elctorates business to know.

Pro-Homosexual Political Correctness Sowed Seeds for Foley Scandal

I'm so stupid, I thought Foley's abysmal judgement and crass behavior were what "sowed the seeds" for the scandal.

Awfully Democrat, to blame the "culture of corruption" (or whatever the buzzword is now) instead of the individual who committed the reprehensible acts.

So YOUR sexual orientation is everyone's business? MUST you tell us if you have a foot fetish or like to wear your wife's panties from time to time? MUST you tell us what role-playing games you and your wife enjoy?

It's NOT your business what someone's sexual orientation is unless they are doing something illegal.

I was afraid of this happening and having observed Perkins for a while I can see him doing this.

First he again is misleading as to the facts here of this incident or at least making a ton of assumptions. I have no interest in having a Tony Perkins and other groups talking about GOP Senators Rep and Party figures private sex lives in a public forum. What is next? Shall we "out" House and Senate staff.

That there is even a chance that the party as a whole knew about Foley and his queer nature (and taste for young men) and did nothing makes me very ill. Somewhat related to my distaste for the cover-up by the Catholic Church regarding the child molesters "of the cloth"...

Even if the RNC leadership can legitimately claim no knowledge (which at this point is in question), the APPEARANCE is still going to do at least some damage.

Of course, if Foley were a Democrat, this would be considered normal and acceptable behavior. But Republicans are suppose to demonstrate a more conservative point of view (hahahah).

Homosexuals on the prowl for young men is on my list of "get the heck out" creeps.

I thought that to the Left being queer was just another lifestyle. Why get all upset about it?

Most homosexuals target the young. But doesn't the Left support the man/boy love thing?

Do you suppose that an uproar is made only when the queer is a Republican? Naw. That wouldn't be fair.

A male congressman having "sex" with a page is a misnomer.
Two males cannot have sex. They can mutually masturbate but that's all.

Sex is the "act of procreation," and can be performed only by two people of opposite gender.

If you need further information I refer you to the book "Joy of Sex," or any high-school gym class.

This flap has little to do with homosexuality.

He's a Republican running for office, and the dems will do anything or say anything to win.

If the same thing crops up in the future but the shoe is on the other foot the dems will do anything to protect their man against the homophobic attacks of the extremist Republicans.
