The title of their upcoming profile "Rumsfeld: Man of War" complete with a scowling graphic, tells you all you need to know about how balanced this pre-election hit piece will be.

The poll should read:

How would you rate the performance of the MSM and their liberal-leftist political agenda in fabricating lies in an attempt to destroy Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld? Good job O Poor job O

None of this matters. It doesn't matter who the SecDef is. It doesn't matter what weapons our military has. None of this matters if we have lost our will to be brutal, to be ruthless. To commit to the destruction of the enemy. not giving a damn about "civilian" casualties. In 1945, Gen. LeMay ordered a firebombing of Tokyo that killed 100,000 civilians in a single night. Yet in Iraq we pussyfooted around Fallujah, scared to death of killing a single woman or child. Our media and government elites agonized for days over whether one of the Fallujah gunmen had been going for his gun when a U.S. soldier shot him (on video for some stupid reason). "Who gives a shit?" is what the Pentagon and White House should have said. "He was a terrorist and now he is a dead terrorist. No investigations of our men..next question!" But they didn't do that. They play along with the enemies within, who question and attack the U.S. at every turn.

The West does not seem prepared to do whatever it takes to match the enemy with their own savagery. "Hearts and minds", "Arab street". What is all that shit? What does that have to do with destroying the enemy? I would rather give a can of Spam to every soldier to rub on every killed "insurgent" before burning their bodies--denying them a place with Allah. Yes we would see the Islamic world erupt in fury. And then we should do it again, and harder, and more ruthless and more brutal. Until they get it...that we are not weak. That if Muslims want to fight us, this is how we will deal with them. That we don't give two shits about what Amnesty International or the Arab League thinks. That terrorists don't deserve Geneva Convention treatment. That is the only way we will win this conflict.

Why does the enemey within (liberal) want Rumsfeld to go?
Are they afraid Bush may get credit for doing something to prevent more terrorism?

CNN, Al Jazeera, Pravda, Tass, Isvestia, CBS, ABC, NBC, CNBC, MSNBC, N.Y. Times, Washington Post, Newsweek, Time, Boston Globe, USA Today, FOX, et cetera, ad nauseum. They are all about lies, distortions, factual errors, sensationalism and left-lunatic propaganda. Cancel all newspaper and magazine subscriptions and kill your TV news. Read The Weekly Standard, subscribe to federalist.com newsletters online, read Imprimus which is free from Hillsdale College (hillsdale.edu), etc.

The pollsters and the media are allied with the Democrats, The Enemy Within.

I think that Rumsfeld has done a great job.

He was saddled with ridiculously restrictive rules of engagement that refuse to allow the US to win any war.

Unfortunately, the Supreme Court just saw fit to throw the moronic 4th Geneva Conventions into the war room, which will hamstring any secretary of defense to come. The correct rules of engagement for this conflict were established by the Allies in WWII, and not those established after the conflict, declaring illegal all of the Allied tactics that were just used to win.

Rumsfeld has been one of the best secretaries of defense, given the unrealistic restrictions he has been operating under, and has represented an important viewpoint in the administration.
