I think this is fantastic. Let those anti-smoking nazi's figure something else out. How about taxing tofu and organics to make up the loss.
Wife and I stuck it to NJ by quitting smoking June 1. At nearly $7 a pack, I figure they've already lost a thousand bucks from us from the 5 dollar a pack in taxes.
Well, instead of giving up something I truly enjoy............I started rolling my own over 4 years ago. I can roll a beautiful carton of cigarettes for under $8 dollars and I am not paying into the state coffers anymore.
Maine charges $2.00 dollars on one pack today. $46 dollars for a carton of Doral's. Rolling my own saves me a lot of money!
Are you serious about $5/pack tax? Where else does NJ soak you? I thought Ohio was a tax hell.
