From behind the benign façade and the tranquilizing smile, the real Bill Clinton emerged Sunday during Chris Wallaces interview on Fox News Channel. There he was on live television, the man those who have worked for him have come to know the angry, sarcastic, snarling, self-righteous, bombastic bully, roused to a fever pitch. The truer the accusation, the greater the feigned indignation. Clinton jabbed his finger in Wallaces face, poking his knee, and invading the commentators space.
But beyond noting the ex-presidents non-presidential style, it is important to answer his distortions and misrepresentations. His self-justifications constitute a mangling of the truth which only someone who once quibbled about what the definition of is is could perform.
Clinton told Wallace, There is not a living soul in the world who thought that Osama bin Laden had anything to do with Black Hawk Down. Nobody said there was. The point of citing Somalia in the run up to 9-11 is that bin Laden told Fortune Magazine in a 1999 interview that the precipitous American pullout after Black Hawk Down convinced him that Americans would not stand up to armed resistance.
Clinton said conservatives were all trying to get me to withdraw from Somalia in 1993 the next day after the attack which killed American soldiers. But the real question was whether Clinton would honor the militarys request to be allowed to stay and avenge the attack, a request he denied. The debate was not between immediate withdrawal and a six-month delay. (Then-first lady, now-Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) favored the first option, by the way). The fight was

thanks :)
The justice was handed down from a higher power... his bad ticker will shorten his mealtime at the public trough.
Actually .. I thought Chris did a great job. When he saw the reaction, he just shut up and allowed Bubba to make a total A$$ out of himself.
But .. if you listen to the audio - you do hear Chris try to interrupt Bubba and get a word in edgewise .. but Bubba would have no part of it.
The film will not be very flattering, will contain violence and physical abuse from Mr Clinton.
Can anyone suggest actors who could portray Clinton? Preferably lesser known. Would have to be young enough to portray WJC in his 30s and also take makeup for later scenes. Anyone know Rebecca DeMornay's politics? she would be perfect to play Hillary.
I agree. But he did plan to spin 9/11 (to us dummies) in response to "the little Pathway to 9/11." (NOTE: The misnomer by clinton was deliberate and meant to convey that he not only didn't watch the ABC movie, he paid it no notice.) What the interview demonstrated: clinton is profoundly dysfunctional; he is a pathological liar, a thug, corrupt, consumed with roiling rage (of the rapist kind), paranoid, self-absorbed, developmentally arrested, inept, delusional, dangerous. (The wife is at least as bad.) BTW, clinton's scapegoating of the 'neocons' is consistent with both clintons' latent antisemitism. |
fyi
A "We Love Our Dick [Morris, of course]" Ping!
Yes, yes, and yes! I gasped when he said "little pathway to 9/11", because it was such a demeaning way to characterize a movie about such an important topic, and the sheer ruthlessness of it was stunning. (Oh, I know he's done way worse in the grand scheme of things, but this casual infliction of injury/carelessless of others' pain, really illustrated his uncaring cruelty).
(He doesn't even put the "fun" in dysfunctional anymore, LOL!)
well said.
Whores can tell the truth sometimes.
Didn't Bill give Dick Morris a "Deliverance" style going-over once during one of their early campaigns together?
Or did he just grab him by the throat or something?
Either way, I'm sure Dick is turning cartwheels over this.
Broken clocks tell the time accurately twice a day. I wouldn't trust Morris as far as I could throw him.
In another thread, you criticized the messenger (Voice of the Martyrs) and "accidentally" defended the Muslim faith.
I'm beginning to see a pattern and I'm beginning to wonder why you're here.
Morris was responsible for inflicting the country with a second term of Clinton. He's a political gun for hire, and if the price were right, he'll be doing polling for Hillary's campaign.
You needed to hear O'Reilly...and it sounded for all the world like he was jealous of Wallace. He did say Clinton was a good presiden. Thing is, he isn't senile or losing his mind...but ratings drive his show and probably statements like he makes sometimes.
