I am curious to see the video because I have been baffled as to how American Soldiers managed to get captured when they are in an armored HMMWV that should have a machine gun mounted on it and, by published accounts, they were taken alive. Either some sloppy reporting, some unusually skilled terrorists, or something is not being told.

Where was the Geneva Convention for them???

There are no nor ever will be signatories to the Geneva Convention by terrorists.

The real lesson here has been realized by our armed forces that surrender or capture is not an option. The Pentagon ought to revise the Rules of Engagement for our personnel to protect them from after action persecution and prosecution.

The Geneva Convention was adopted in 1949 and has been violated continuosly since. A GC card in your pocket while on the battlefield is worthless.

We need General Sherman in charge. This order of Sherman was posted on one of the Civil War threads.

Hdqrs. Military Division of the Mississippi, In the field, Rome, Ga., October 29, 1864.

Brigadier-General Watkins, Calhoun, Ga.:

Cannot you send over about Fairmount and Adairsville, burn about ten or twelve houses of known secessionists, kill a few at random, and let them know it will be repeated every time a train is fired on from Reseca to Kingston?

W. T. Sherman,

Major-General Commanding

Maybe it was not gentlemanly fighting, but General Sherman meant that soldiers of the US Army were not going to be fired upon by guerrillas, freedom fighters, insurgents or whatever they called themselves. The soldiers in the field need a Sherman-like concern for their welfare with no concern about the tears of the boo hoo brigade of the left. They'd find something else to cry about anyway.

Terror group posts footage of bodies

http://www.mercurynews.com/mld/mercurynews/news/special_packages/iraq/15593022.htm

"It was impossible to identify the bodies, but the footage was believed to be of Pfc. Kristian Menchaca, 23, and Pfc. Thomas Tucker, 25, who went missing after being attacked by insurgents on June 16 at a checkpoint south of Baghdad. Their remains were found three days later, and the U.S. military said they had been mutilated.

The video showed masked men dragging the corpses, first by hand, then behind a truck, beheading one of them and then setting them on fire. Below the graphic footage is a subtitle: "The two soldiers belong to the same brigade of the soldier who raped our sister in Mahmoudiya."

====

It's a good thing Congress is passing all that terrorist protection legislature to make sure we treat them with kindness. Just think what the terrorist would have done to our soldiers if we didn't extend Geneva convention rights to terrorists. (/bitter sarcasm)

"Where was the Geneva Convention for them???"

This is the question everyone should be asking. This is the question that I hope voters will be asking this year, and in 2008. Anyone who answers it wrong should be voted out.

The thing is, the Geneva conventions should never have applied to the kind of fighters like the terrorists. Never. To apply them is just plain stupid--and suicidal for us.

OUTRAGE BUMP!

May these brave men be in heaven and prayers for the loved ones on this earth mourning them again through these positively EVIL pictures. It's no wonder they couldn't recognize these brave men.

May those that do this find an especially HOT PLACE IN HELL ASAP.

Someone sent me an email sometime ago with the pictures of the murdered soldiers. One was face down and pretty bloody. The other had been beheaded and the terrorist was holding his head up and his body was face up and his chest was cut open, you could see the ribs, a leg was missing..it was beyond awful. I would think the faces could have been idenitfied. I don't have the link anymore..it was just sickening.

Then today we hear the successor to AlZaqawri (sp) shot execution style a Turkish man who had been captured...it was on FOXNews.

What these terrorists don't realize is that the Allah they worship is Satan in Allah's robes...

I can't watch it. My heart hurts for these soldiers and their families. Let's stop and think though. They killed these soldiers in mid-June and are releasing the video now? Do you think things are going well for them? I was very upset to hear about this video, but then the realization came.

If you look around at the web news on the war today and start reading the stories, they are all recycled. Look at the dates. The bombings and losses we suffered are from days and weeks ago. Geez, we've even seen a recycled dead-Bin Laden today. This looks like a spiteful and desperate attempt to gain publicity and stir up their cause.

May God forgive them for what they did to these great American soldiers because I never will. And as for McCain, Warren, et al, I will never forgive them either for their recent actions.
