Since the trend is to jump up and make the brilliant observation that we should be skeptical, let me point out that even if they don't really want to mean it, the fact that they're doing it is very, very good news. It will cut deeply into Muslim and Arab politics and social perceptions, and pressure them to change their stance vis a vis Israel.
I now return you to your regularly scheduled skepticism.

I've always thought the best thing that could happen would be for Hamas to be elected to control the government. It's much easier to be the dissident than actually deal with reality.
I'm cautiously optimistic that this is a breakthrough.
