I would think that Kerry Healey would prefer Patrick come out the winner in the dem primary. His stance on illegal immigration vis a vis driver's licenses and tuition is gonna piss off a lot of blue collar dems. OTOH, the Cambridge nitwits will be dancing in the streets, a certified Clintonista with a shot at the state house.

Yes it *could* be,and certainly *will* be if he wins in Nov.But,as I suspect you know,taxes are the reason why we've had Republican governors for the last 16 years.

Given that Patrick has proudly declared that he will tax us back to the Stone Age if he wins,it is,IMO,not at *all* certain that he'll win in Nov.Yes,he'll carry Cambridge,Brookline,Northampton,Provincetown and maybe even Newton,but Mass *is* the state whose voters demanded in a recent referendum that the tax rate be rolled back to 5%.

Also,it's the Deval Patricks of the state who are trying their damnedest to keep homosexual "marriage" off of the ballot.

IMO,it's not time to dust off the cyanide capsules just yet!

Actually, I'm registered as Unenrolled myself -- got boring never having a primary to vote in! ;-)

I took a Dem ballot and voted for Gabrieli. I think Healey is the best of a bad lot, but no matter who the Dem candidate turns out to be . . . he could win, and Gabrieli seems the least awful.

On the lighter side, by latest update Howie Carr has 7 write-in votes against Ted Kennedy (as reported by callers who wrote him it -- I would have if I'd thought of it!).

The governor's race is really the only one.The democRATS have a death-hold on the other offices....all 10 House seats,Teddy's seat,etc.

Muffy (R) vs Deval Patrick, rat, Clinton butt boy, Tom Rielly, rat, Irish, Mass Political Hack, with all that intends, Chris Gabrialie, rat, Italian Mass Political Hack , probably the best of a bad bunch.

The rest of the cantidates suck, all rat all the time.

I have heard from some very good conservative candidates. Chase is one, running against Kennedy. We have some excellent independents running too, who of course are not on primary ballots. We have a strong conservative Independent running against Olver, and there are several good conservatives running against Lollipop boy too.

That said, this is my first MA primary, and I find the whole political scene here very confusing, and secretive. Candidates don't all state there positions on issues, and never do they state a party affiliation. Not on signs or tv ads or anything. You have to get yourself informed to know who to vote for.

Very strange to me. It's almost like everything is a big secret.
