I disagree.

It is because being a democrat or liberal - in many cases - is a religion, a "belief system" - and, it has been proved many times, that people will die to protect their belief system - even in the face of rational, objective facts that contradict their belief system (see ANY crevo thread on this site).

Conservatism is a "rational thought process", therefore, deviation from this process causes people to stop supporting the "deviate" beliefs - and therefore, the person espousing them.

Also, in liberalism, "The ends justify the means" - All liberals know that Hillary is lying when she talks conservatively - and they accept that as part of what needs to be said "to get the job done".

When a conservative speaks liberally, they get their heads ripped off by their base because in conservatism "the ends and means are the same" - they must adhere to the same set of principals.

So, given these two points, conservatives will NOT follow someone who deviates from the "conservative viewpoint", whereas libs will still support ANY democrat - because their religion demands it.

What does Buba have that makes his people back him no matter what he does?

That's what made me, for awhile, think he could be the Anti-Christ.

"What does Buba have that makes his people back him no matter what he does?"

Clinton is an exactly image of his supporters and their amoral, irresponsible, "me" lives. By his rise to power he validates their worthless lives and gives them acceptance. If he were to fall, they would hav to face the reality of their degenerate lives.

What does Ron Popeil have that makes people excitedly order *The Pocket Fisherman*, convinced they are going to land a sail fish in the Mississippi River? *Salesmanship*. Making someone buy the lie. Hook, line, and sinker.

Why is he NOT in jail?

Because he made a plea deal

FBI files and a suspicious record of associate deaths makes some of them toe the line.

That's a very good theory, but where it breaks down is in the fact that, in most cases, it is the deviant-liberal, opportunistic and/or weak-kneed Republicans- who double-cross the President when he is acting in accordance with conservative principles.

If some Democrat tried to pull a McCain on Bubba, he would have unleashed the full fury of the Democrat machine, including the Drive-By Media upon him, and they all knew it. President Bush doesn't control the press like Clinton did, but he doesn't even seem to control the Republican Party, nor does he wish to.

At least he is fighting back verbally now. That's a great improvement over the previous strategy of fetal position assumption.

And the deal was. "You admit you did it, pay a token fine, and we'll pretend it never happened."

The Justice Department would have nailed a Republican to the wall.

The Bush Family is proud of its gentlemanly conduct.

Yep. Unfortunately, politics is not a gentlemanly sport.

Less than P.T. Barnum or B.J. Clinton.

Clinton epitomizes the ideals of the Woodstock "ME" generation. An anti-bougeois, naive, self-involved, irrational blend of narcissism and contempt for traditional values.

We should not have allowed him to plea. He destroyed documents regarding our national security and claimed it was accidental. That alone indicates he was still lying.
