House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) made that comment Wednesday in a speech on the House floor. She was blasting a Republican resolution marking the fifth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.
Pelosi says Republicans have introduced a partisan and "congratulatory" resolution: "It praises Congress for some reason," Pelosi complained.
"Instead of having the focus on the innocent victims of 9/11, it talks about the accomplishments of this Congress. I can't even imagine why they (Republican leaders) thought that was a good idea. Since they have opened the door to what they have done, they have also opened the door to what they have not done," she said.

At this point, I agree with her. We've pretty much wiped out al Qaeda in Iraq. At this point, it's primarily sectarian violence. Let the Iraqis take care of that problem. We'll just keep a hundred thousand troops there to keep an eye on Iran.

The 1996 OBL declared war on the US; Clinton ignored it. In 2005 or 6 (I don't recall) OBL said that the war in IRaq is the third world war. The democrats ignored him once, and seemingly they chose to ignore him again. The dems learned nothing from 9/11.

The left has always been stupid about economics. I guess it was Vietnam that turned them stupid about military strategy.
Fortunately for the world, FDR knew how to throw a war. The Japanese attacked us a Pearl Harbor, so our response was to invade Nazi-occupied Africa.
I suppose if Pelosi had been around then she'd have been carping about the war in Africa, and then Europe, being a 'distraction' from fighting the 'real' enemy. Oh, I forgot, FDR was a Democrat, she'd have been fawning over the brilliance of every strategic decision.
Fortunately, the War is being fought regardless of what madame skeletor thinks.

Isn't this what we are doing now, except for air and logistics support. I don't think we've wiped out al Queda in Iraq either.
America is at war with enemies that include Nancy Pelosi.
I agree that's what we are doing. That's my point.
Notice I said "pretty much wiped them out." There are a few holdouts, but then there are probably a few al Qaeda terrorists in this country too.
Lola doesn't even think we are at war, period. She wants to go back to BJ and make it a Law Enforcement problem.
