WASHINGTON, Sept. 13 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) announced today that it is adding former Deputy Secretary of State Richard L. Armitage to the lawsuit filed by Valerie Plame Wilson and Joseph C. Wilson against I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, Karl Rove and Vice President Richard Cheney. CREW represents the Wilsons in the litigation.

A new book by Michael Isikoff and David Corn, 'Hubris: The Inside Story of Spin, Scandal and the Selling of the Iraq War', discloses that Armitage was the first administration official to reveal that Valerie Wilson worked for the CIA. Armitage told this information to reporters Bob Woodward and Robert Novak. Armitage has since confirmed his role and has admitted that he learned that Ms. Wilson worked for the CIA from classified documents. Novak has also confirmed Armitage as his initial source.

As a result of Armitage's disclosures of this information and the resulting publication of Mrs. Wilson's CIA employment, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson suffered gross invasions of their privacy and Mrs. Wilson lost the ability to continue working as a covert CIA officer. Armitage is being sued for violating the Wilsons' constitutional right to privacy, Mrs. Wilson's constitutional right to property, and for committing the tort of publication of private facts.

I don't see how there could be 4 people who were the first to disclose her identity to the media.

Oh, they'll find some tortured way of connecting Armitage to the Bush White House. It'll make the flow chart describing the "Vast Rightwing Conspiracy" look like childsplay, but they'll make some kind of connection.

Dems just love playing "6 Degrees from Kevin Bacon" with their conspiracies.

He'll cut a deal to avoid any damages, in exchange for testifying about how Karl Rove and Dick Cheney ordered him to do it (no doubt from their secret bunker using their mind control ray).

The presiding judge (if there is one supervising this mess), should start letting the others out of this lawsuit.

Just can't wait to hear what happens when the Wilsons get subpoenas!! Those two should be jailed for an attempted coup.

I would not be too surprised if the statute of limitations has passed. This happened a long time ago.

The Wilson's will drop the suit as soon as they have milked all the fame and book sales from it. They will not have to go to discovery.

Didn't Linda Tripp's lawsuit for similar illegal activities against her government employer get kicked out of court?
