BELGRADE, Serbia, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Serbia's prime minister said parliament should adopt a constitution saying Kosovo province will never be independent.
Addressing a parliamentary session Tuesday in Belgrade, Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said the predominantly ethnic-Albanian Kosovo province "has always been and will be forever Serbia's component part," local radio stations reported.
Kostunica said this had to be emphasized and written down in a new constitution currently being worked out.
"For the state of Serbia, Kosovo will never be independent ," he said.
The Serbian government and Kosovo's ethnic-Albanian leaders have been having U.N.-led talks in Vienna since February to decide who will govern the southern province once U.N. civil administrators and NATO troops leave.
Kosovo, whose 1.8 million population is 90 percent ethnic-Albanian, is formally part of Serbia, but since 1999 fighting it has been run by the U.N. administration.
Ethnic-Albanian leaders want Kosovo independent of Belgrade, while the Serbian government is offering semi-autonomy for the province.
Well now we know the Serbs were right and we should support them against the KLA and Al Qaeda.
Kosovo is their territory. Is some Albanian doesn't like it, he has a nice Albanian country to hang out in or choose to live peacefully.
If not, they get what all terrorists should get.

Right. Albanians occupying kosovo should return to their "homeland" - Albania. And they should get a move on.
With the death of Tito in 1980 the deteriorating Yugoslavia was meat to the Albanian wolves who began a process of making Kosovo unlivable for Serbians. From 1980-85 there were hundreds of Muslim attacks and tens of thousands of Serbs fled the region. That process has continued, but the Serbs vow to never give up their cradle of civilization. I doubt they ever will.
If Yugoslavia couldn't be held together because of distrust of each other, it's better to be apart.
On the other hand, this "Albanian empire" you all talk about is very small potatoes.

radical party leader, party with some 40% popularity openly asked about army and what army would do in case of someones idea to steal Kosovo from Serbia, and Socialist party representative in hos interwiew to press during recess asked openly "Why someone wouldnt be affraid of Serbias response? They should be affraid of Serbia and serbias response!"
Well, call me insain, but some 150 burned churches, ethnical cleamsing of Christians and jews on kosovo, arresting 14 men in Montenegro of whom 4 are american citisens of Albanian origin accused of terror plot, and todays blowing up of Serb house on Kosovo...

As time goes on, I see that Serbia and fellow Orthodox comunities will take the lead in defending and reclaiming lands stolen and oppressed by Muslims.
They did it before...they will have to do it again. The West (apart from elements in the US) is emasculated.
