Mornin' Freepers,

Make it easy for your voice to be heard by putting your Senators, Rep, and newspaper in your cell phone and email directories. You may want to include your mayor's office, school board, etc.

This will make it more likely that we get our voices heard.

Contact Info on your Senators, Rep, and local newspaper.

Another idea I had a while back for maximizing your voice locally is to set up a group of 10, 15, or 20 like-minded individuals. Depending on the size of the group (which should be a multiple of 5), each person in the group gets to pick a topic in succession on which everyone in the group will phone (or email) a politician, company, or individual with the same message. If the group has 10 members, each person gets to choose his or her directed call once every two weeks (10 business days). If the group has 15 members, everyone gets his or her day every three weeks. You could use Yahoo groups or a similar site to coordinate.

This method can create a more effective use of everyone's time, as each call creates a groundswell of directed focus that is missing from having each individual calling randomly on disparate issues. You can imagine the effect on an organization, politician, or company which receives a number of calls on the same issue on the same day. I think that this would work much better on a local level, but maybe someone could create email lists to apply it on a national level also. Each member would be on the honor system to call.

Make use of time that was previously wasted in traffic, doing your morning bathroom time, or while waiting for your kid to get out of baseball practice by making a call.

Don't put it off. Put the numbers in your phone now. If you wait to do it later, it won't get done (if you're like me).
