Muslim Converts in Britain Seen as Among Most Extreme (interesting perspective)

"The converts are seen as the most extreme, and they're seen as the most extreme even by other Muslims who may not come from the U.K. Which is really worrying," said Anthony Glees, director of the Brunel University Center for Intelligence and Security Studies in West London.

The growing number of homegrown converts in the ranks of militant Islam in Britain is raising troubling new questions not only about what it means to be British, but whether new Muslims must choose between family and faith across what many see as a yawning divide between civilizations.

Britain now has perhaps 50,000 Muslim converts, ranging from fair-haired homemakers in Yorkshire who have adopted the hijab to former Catholic priests, Afro-Caribbean street gang members and upper-middle-class university students.

At meetings attended by many new converts, Glees said, "people are brainwashed with certain ideas. Such as, there was no Holocaust. Such as, the London [transport] bombers killed far fewer people than the number of Muslims killed over hundreds of years by the British. These things are said, and they become increasingly accepted by these people as their ideological currency."

"Of course, we have noticed this," said Abdurahman Anderson, who has worked extensively with new Muslims at South London's Brixton mosque. The congregation there, about 60% converts, has included Richard Reid, the British-born would-be "shoe bomber" who was himself a convert, and Sept. 11 conspirator Zacarias Moussaoui, now serving a life sentence in the U.S.

It is similar to the "born again" experience in Christianity but with destructive results. One must ask what is the spirit with which these new converts to islam are filled.

It certainly isn't Holy.

It is partly the message, and partly the slate on which it is written. That's what makes Islam such a dangerous prison religion. It promises people proven to be capable of nastiness a justification and group approval in exchange for some discipline. The "uber-gang."

This is nothing different than what happens to Christian converts. They don't run out and start slaughtering others who aren't of their new faith, but they become the "enforcers" of their religion - correcting every fault of those raised in the faith.

I'm not equating Christian converts to Muslim extremists, I'm just making the point that there is a thread of similarity that runs through religious converts and they all have similar tendencies and the desire to prove that they are as religious, if not moreso, than those raised in the faith.

The bad thing about Muslim converts is that they are the most susceptible to be recruited by the terrorist wing to prove how "worthy" they are of their new religion.

"The bad thing about Muslim converts is that they are the most susceptible to be recruited..."

The other bad thing is that Islam is a cult of death and murder.

I knew a Lutheran woman who converted to Judaism... she now speaks Hebrew far better than most non-Israeli Jews, can read directly from the Torah (not easy!), and is a Talmudic scholar. So I agree, converts tend to be the most fervent practicioners of a faith.

And it's telling, that Jewish converts fervently seek truth; Christian converts fervently seek to do good; and Islamic converts fervently seek death and destruction on as wide a scale as they can imagine.

I think these young students converting to Islam are doing it simply for it's Lefty/radical political appeal.

Ya know, that's an interesting aspect to all of this that has some merit. In the 40's and 50's, communism was all the rage among the elites - right up to McCarthy's House Unamerican Activities Committee hearings.

How do we manage to bring back a McCarthy to conduct new hearings on Muslims, today?

The time will come when we have to realize that Islam is incompatible with western civilization.

Converts to any religion are usually more ardent, passionate and "extreme" than people born and raised in the religion. Only, you rarely hear of "extreme" Christians or Jews trying to blow themselves up and everyone else with them.

The most dangerous aspect of islam is the principle that "the end justifies the means when it comes to spreading the religion." That eliminates any elevation of behavior or sense of decency or rules of dignity from warfare from islam. That alone give islam its depravity in proselyzing and war.

IMO, it is that one concept that proves the demonic design of islam.
