New Documents Detail Clinton White House Behind-the-Scenes Role in "War" on Gun Rights

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch, the public interest group that fights government corruption, announced today that it has uncovered new documents from the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas which shed light on the Clintons’ plan to attack the gun industry.  The following are highlights from the documents:

In March 2000, less than two years after the Blumenthal memo referenced above, the Clinton strategy was used to strong-arm gun manufacturer Smith and Wesson to install gun locks, introduce so-called “smart gun” strategy, and to ban the sale of its weapons at trade shows.  Smith and Wesson broke ranks with other gun manufacturers and agreed to execute this strategy if a lawsuit against the company would be dropped.

“These new documents clearly show that the Clinton administration put into motion an organized plan to attack the gun industry,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.  “Tough questions about these extortive methods ought to be asked of both Clintons.”

This is why it is important for us to prevent the House, the Senate, and the Presidency from falling into RAT hands. Yes, some GOPs are squishy on gun rights, but in most head-to-head races, the GOP will be no worse than, and generally better than the RAT.

The commie/leftie/socialist/America haters want the country disarmed. They want a passive citizenry who can't fight back against the socialist/commie takeover and oppression.

Guns in the hands of the citizens = freedom, the most radical political idea of all history. Many people, especially the Dims can't handle freedom. They don't want you to be able to make your own choices and live your own life according to your own philosophy or beliefs.

Communism/socialism is just another word for fascism.

I hate to tell you this, but Healthy People 2010 already is in all 50 states. It has Gun Ban laws.

Healthy People 2010

See post 108 at that thread.

The left even covered themselves FURTHER by making many of their 28 initiatives in Healthy People a class c felony for noncompliance which would mean loss of right to carry and voting.

We need to get the public/private partnership with Healthy People OUT of the U.S. It will drag us into socialism faster than if Gore was President.

These documents provide the number one reason these people must not be allowed to return to power.

If you haven't joined the NRA, do it now. If you are a member, vote and get everyone else you know to vote.

Thanks for this link.. been looking for this info for a while.. I also seem to remember a long time ago, another insider doc from the Clinton era that not only wanted to ban guns but all gun related items AND military surplus items as well.. things like ammo cans and military uniforms would become contraband. Scary stuff indeed.

>>> introduce so-called “smart gun” strategy

A little more on this one:

Chip implanted in cop's hand would allow only officer to fire the gun

By JILL BARTON
Associated Press

April 13, 2004, 4:54 PM EDT

PALM BEACH -- A new computer chip promises to keep police guns from firing if they fall into the wrong hands.

The tiny chip would be implanted in a police officer's hand and would match up with a scanning device inside a handgun. If the officer and gun match, a digital signal unlocks the trigger so it can be fired. But if a child or criminal would get hold of the gun, it would be useless.

The technology is the latest attempt to create a so-called ``smart gun'' and could be marketed to law enforcement agencies within a year, according to Verichip Corp., which has created the microchip.

Verichip president Keith Bolton said that the technology could also improve safety for the military and individual gun owners.

``If you let your mind wander to other potential uses, you can imagine the lives that could be saved,'' he said.

Verichip, which has marketed similar microchips for security and medical purposes, announced Tuesday a partnership with gun maker FN Manufacturing to produce the smart weapons. The companies have developed a prototype and are working to refine its accuracy, Bolton said.

Similar developments are under way at other gun manufacturers and research firms. The New Jersey Institute of Technology and Australian gun maker Metal Storm Ltd. are working on a prototype smart gun that would recognize its owner's individual grip.

``We're at an interesting age where all sorts of science fiction is becoming real technology,'' said Donald Sebastian, NJIT vice president for research and development and director of the project.

The technology could also eventually have an even bigger impact on the illegal gun trade, Sebastian said.

The FBI estimated that 67 percent of the 16,204 murders in 2002 were committed with firearms.

``You have a long-term benefit of making it much more difficult for a handgun to have any value to anyone other than the original owner,'' Sebastian said.

But until the smart-gun technology is repeatedly proved to be reliable, some law enforcement authorities remain leery.

The scanning device could malfunction, the officer's hand with the computer chip could be smashed during a fight or an officer might need to use a partner's gun, said West Palm Beach police training Sgt. William Sandman.

``We have power outages, computers crash. Would you risk your life knowing all those things that could go wrong?'' Sandman said.

Verichip's Bolton said those concerns already are being addressed. He said the guns can be designed to work for an officer, his partner and a supervisor. Departments could set routines where the scanning devices in guns could be checked before every shift.

The chip needs no battery or power source. It works much like those that have been implanted in pets over the past decade so they can be identified if they get lost. Verichip, a subsidiary of the Palm Beach-based technology firm Applied Digital Solutions, developed a ``more intelligent'' version two years ago for humans and estimates that about 900 people worldwide have been implanted with them.

The chips can be used instead of security key cards at office buildings or to use global positioning satellites to keep track of a relative who might suffer from Alzheimer's. It can store medical information that emergency rooms could read or financial and identification information to prevent fraud.

The chip, about the size of a grain of rice, is inserted into an arm or hand with a syringe _ much like a shot is given.

Bolton said the company has seen no medical complications and that the technology will only improve with time.

Once the technology is accepted, legislation could follow to encourage the use of smart guns. New Jersey already has passed legislation that will require smart gun technology on all handguns sold _ three years after the state attorney general certifies that smart guns are available in the marketplace.

The National Rifle Association opposes the legislation because of potential problems with smart-gun technology, but gun safety advocates argue that the technology could encourage gun ownership with the newfound sense of security.

``It seems that guns are the only product that haven't followed a path of development that leads to greater safety for the user. The only real change we've seen is to make them more lethal and smaller so they can be more easily concealed,'' said Rob Wilcox, a spokesman for the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence. ``This is one of the steps that hasn't been taken and we think this debate is one that needs to take place.'' ___

And yet, whenever these laws that mandate firearms that are supposed to be "safer" are enacted (e.g., "Saturday nite specials", "smart" guns), police are specifically exempted. Aren't policemen's lives, and the lives of their children important enough that these laws apply to them too?

>>>won't need all this if the dems get in....

Are you kidding me?

Verichip made their product available 'affiliate' style. MANY of the dems that are behind all these Healthy People initiatives are going to profit first. And yes, Verichip goes hand in hand with Verichip. The first jackpot comes from all the monies Clinton made available through NanoTechnology before he left office. The next cash cow is the pay outs through the affiliate distributions of Verichip.

And remember, we have Republicans in office as a majority. And all 50 states are signed up for Healthy People.

They are all either dumber than bricks, or there is more truth than we realize to the conspiracy theories.

This year, yes. Next year the GOP'll decide they can safely shift a little to the Left... and in twenty years or so, they'll be where the Dems are today.

Think long term. A GOP that will eventually undo the harm protest-vote-enabled Democrats do is better than a GOP that gets to where the Dems are going a little later.

This is akin to a little tidbit that became public during the Whitewater Investigation but got overlooked because of the sexual escapades of Willard and his GF Monica.

Toon was on the phone with Tony Blair discussing crime and Blair asked Billy Jeff why he just didn't outlaw handguns (maybe it was all guns, can't recall exactly).

Klintoon responded,

"I'd love to, but I can't because of that DAMN 2nd Amendment"

Got that, the "DAMN" 2nd Amendment.

I had the article on my HD but lost it when the dang thing crashed and had to reformat. But that's how they feel about firearms and the Bill of Rights - The "damn" 2nd Amendment.

Molon Labe!

Thank you. I have studied comparative economic systems and socialism is little different from fascism. Communism on the other hand is a fallacy and cannot work on creatures more evolved than ants. The old USSR, Red China, etc were all socialist - the state owns the means of production.
