SARAJEVO (Reuters) - The tomb of Bosnia's wartime president and top Muslim leader Alija Izetbegovic was blown up in an explosion early on Friday in Sarajevo's Old Town, the police said.
"The tomb of Bosnia's first president, Alija Izetbegovic, was damaged by an explosive device," a duty officer said.
He said the explosion occurred around 3:05 a.m. (2:05 a.m. British time). Nobody was injured and surrounding buildings were only slightly damaged.
State and regional prosecutors were notified and an investigation is under way, officer Jerko Budimir said.
The police cordoned off the Muslim cemetery where Bosnian army soldiers killed during the 1992-95 siege of the capital had been buried, the state radio reported.

Why a tomb?
Burning of Reichstag, all over again.
Possibly new war in Bosnia They will blame Christians for this.
Work related accident?
Cause present muslime lider is still alive...
Nobody was injured ...
Amateur archeologists...
"Possibly new war in Bosnia They will blame Christians for this."
Will they really go to war over the bombing of a tomb?
The guy's already dead for cryin' out loud.
Yawn, wake me when they blow up khomeinis.
Why not? It's a pretty powerful symbolic target -- imagine if someone tried to blow up George Washington's tomb.
Five dazs ago TV showed decorated Muslim general ordering Christian willages to be burned during civill war, and Church being vandalised bz muslim soldiers and a beheading of captured Christian soldier...
Muslims needed something to distract public eye...
Why not? It's a pretty powerful symbolic target -- imagine if someone tried to blow up George Washington's tomb.

That is sooooo misguieded! You compare the father of Americasn nation to Muslime president that imported Al/Qaeda fighters in Bosnia and held talks with Ben Laden?!
Groooooseeee.....
Reuters? You would think they would have photographic "evidence"!
The latter is hard to believe.
HE'S DEAD JIM!
I guess they forgot to remove his vest before they buried him.
Not comparing the two men, just the symbolic value of the target. Whether you like him or not, he was the first president of an independent Bosnia and has followers who will be enraged -- which was the point of the attack.
Although the fact that this was a weak attack was on an unguarded target where everyone was already dead at 3 in the morning indicates to me that it was some disgruntled kid.
