Caracas, Aug 10 (Prensa Latina) The Venezuelan National Assembly (parliament) is focused on the security of citizens, protected by firearms possession laws and police codes of conduct.
Given the challenge posed by this issue, the Domestic Policy Commission of that legislative body is examining new regulations for the police, following elaborations by the Armed Forces s Weapon Direction.
National Assembly Vice President Juan Jose Molina stated legislators will evaluate the Police Code of Conduct.
Experts believe the governmental stance is part of strategies to fight criminality and protect citizens, and will further target people who possess weapons.
In a recent TV appearance, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez asserted any lack of security in the nation has stemmed from values promoted by capitalism.
"This year will go down in history. For the first time, a civilized nation has full gun registration! Our streets will be safer, our police more efficient, and the world will follow our lead into the future."
--Adolf Hitler, 1935
I don't want to be inhumane to the pigs.
But, but I thought those Kalashnikovs purchased recntly were going towards forming plebeian militias to resist the evil imperialists! Where else would they be going? /sarc
