If you won sizable sums of money, it is best you report it to the IRS like most people who regularly win sizable sums playing online poker. What is going on here is Uncle Sam wants money from the online casinos too. They are not content on just getting their cut from the players. Plus a few politicians are angling for some votes from the over religious types.

It's also about protecting state-run gambling, aka the state lottery. Yeah that too........

Isn't it funny how House Republicans think we are felons if we gamble anywhere other than our local horsetrack or state lottery?
The bill the House is pushing would, overnight, turn around 10 million Americans into felons
1 in 37 adults living in the United States is in prison or has served time there...the highest incarceration level in the world.
Today, the USA keeps more than two million people behind bars -- compared with only 200,000 three decades ago. With 5 percent of the world's population, we account for 25 percent of its prison population.
Prisons are a $60 billion per year growth industry in America. The "Land of the Free" has become a police state!

Oh, they oppose the socialists, alright. But only for their "perversions", not for their overall statist world-view. Well they might be conspicuously absent from this thread on account of their beloved Bill Bennett. ; )
But, expect to be called a DUmmy and possibly be banned if this thread comes up on a Saturday. Seems that's when all the little old ladies come out and post their Pat Boone articles ...
