The head of Iran's Revolutionary Guards said the United States and Israel would not survive if they attacked his nation, the IRNA news agency reported today.
"Without doubt, if the criminals (the United States and Israel) want to make any moves against Iran they will be stricken by a blow 100 times stronger and they will not survive in the face of Iran's power," General Yahya Rahim Safavi was quoted as saying.
Iran is under threat of international sanctions if it fails to comply with a United Nations Security Council resolution to suspend uranium enrichment by August 31.
Washington has also never ruled out the use of force against Iran.
Israel meanwhile yesterday accused Iran of "stoking instability in the region" after a barrage of Hezbollah rocket fire killed 15 people in northern Israel.
Israel regularly accuses Iran and Syria of backing Hezbollah and feeding the Lebanese Shiite militia's arsenal.
Tehran and Damascus reject this, saying they only offer moral support.

A buddy of mine who spent 10 years as an Air Force intel weenie, says that pre-positioned nuclear weapons are a FACT. When he was in the know, the weapons all belonged to the Russians and they were aware we had pre-positioned weapons too.
The problem is, we don't actually know if North Korea has supplied Tehran with nukes yet or not. They may have.
I think we're kidding ourselves if we think we have more time to consider the Iran option. We need to get off our butts and take it to them now.

What is it going to take before the U.S. government takes these Iranian threats seriously? A nuke in New York or Washington D.C. It's time we take the leadership of that government out Now while we have a chance. They have already told us their plans so let's get the job done.
I've noticed it time and time again. Muslims seem to say the stupidest things. Hyperbole and lying seem not to be considered lies at all -- maybe just poetic license or something.
They come up with the lamest, weirdest, silliest "Rube Goldberg" type excuses whenever they get their hands caught in the cookie jar, and actually seem to believe them.
This guy is a general -- admittedly a general in charge of a bunch of freaky, fanatic looney-tunes, but still, he must have something resembling intelligence.
Israel has somewhere in the neighborhood of 200 to 400 nukes which can be delivered by ballistic missile, aircraft or submarine launched cruise missile -- Iran, if they have any at all, has less than 10, untested, unreliable, innacurate missiles tipped with unproven warheads.
Rhetoric is all good and well, but this is getting pretty damn silly.
i would speculate that they probably have a couple
which gives them bragging rights and bully dreams. only one problem, fire one up and iran is gone.
The USA has prepared the proper force to take on Iran and all their military might.
Does there have to be an iran? A marker in the middle of molten glass stating that once there has been an iran in that place would suffice for the future historians.
Although I am not on the team in favor of anyone nuking anyone, I have to admit I enjoy these "nuke em" threads almost as much as the "Zot em" threads.
Freepers do get passionate and when they do, the wit is great entertainment.
That said. I still don't want anyone nuking anyone.
